Chronicles of a Crocheter. Just another WordPress.com site. October 20, 2010. Bernat MACAL – Clue #5. Posted by wenp under Bernat MACAL. First of all, I have been joining the colors at the end instead of just fastening off and joining the next color with a slip stitch. It makes this easier. Second, I have been making sure to crochet in the ends of the yarn as I go, that way there are not a whole bunch of loose ends to weave in when the square is finished. This saves quite a lot of time. Restore to me the...

Adventures In Crocheting: LSG11ty - Helios
http://adventuresincrocheting.blogspot.com/2011/03/lsg11ty-helios.html
A little of this, a little of that and a LOT of yarn. Thursday, March 24, 2011. I decided it was time to start working on stuff bigger than mittens and hats and scarves. I saw the pattern for the Helios. On Ravelry and decided that was a good start. I found this amazingly colored Cascade 220 at River Knits in Lafayette IN. It's an autumny warm gold that just makes me smile. The last picture is the best representation of the color. Isn't it amazing? Used 3 skeins so I have one left.). Skip To My Lou.

A little of this, a little of that and a LOT of yarn. Monday, March 22, 2010. For those of you that are a certain age and are married, you might think that those of us who are a certain age and single and living in a fairly large city might have thrill filled weekends every weekend of the year. Friday: rehearsal and then home to bed. I forgot I whipped this up for a friend at work. The cozy, not the aluminum bottle, silly! See what an exciting life I lead? Wednesday, March 17, 2010. Tuesday, March 9, 2010.

I finished the last one at about 12:30 am, worked in the ends and only one day late (costume parade was Sunday). The nice thing is that every actor that has put theirs on have been inordinately happy with them. That makes ME happy! Can't wait to see them onstage in about, eek, two weeks! Location: 107 Pullen Rd, Raleigh, NC 27605, USA.

Adventures In Crocheting: Stuff I did while relaxing with the family: Holidays 2010
http://adventuresincrocheting.blogspot.com/2011/03/stuff-i-did-while-relaxing-with-family.html
A little of this, a little of that and a LOT of yarn. Monday, March 21, 2011. Stuff I did while relaxing with the family: Holidays 2010. For something to do on the flight home I created this long cowl. It was mostly as an experiment to try out Red Heart's Curly Q yarn. The pattern is just a simple tube of HDC. Magazine. I know I've raved before but, seriously people, this is a gem! It's left from Niece #2's first attempts at learning to crochet. Isn't she adorable! In I Love This Yarn in Aegean. May 24, ...

Adventures In Crocheting: January 2011
http://adventuresincrocheting.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
A little of this, a little of that and a LOT of yarn. Wednesday, January 26, 2011. And so it begins. Here's the first of several blog vomits of ALL THE THINGS that I've been neglecting to write about. Let's start with this: Rainbow Taos Lothlorien Scarf. I made it from two skeins of Crystal Palace Yarns Taos. In Rainbow. This is a 100% wool that's not too scratchy and, in this colorway, incredible colors. The pattern is one of my standbys, the Lothlorien Scarf by Danielle Renee. Here are my notes:. I mad...

Adventures In Crocheting: LSG11ty - The Blackstone Tweed Period
http://adventuresincrocheting.blogspot.com/2011/03/lsg11ty-blackstone-tweed-period.html
A little of this, a little of that and a LOT of yarn. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. LSG11ty - The Blackstone Tweed Period. I bought about 6 skeins of Blackstone Tweed in this really mellow green from Downtown Knits. Little did I know it was hella fragile, like pulling on it hard broke it. Hope the bind offs hold! I did a Bonita Hat. It took 1.5 skeins. Tweaked the mittens so they’d fit. A couple rows longer in the hand, an extra row of shells in the gauntlet, I hook instead of K. And, really, a K hook?

Adventures In Crocheting: February 2010
http://adventuresincrocheting.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
A little of this, a little of that and a LOT of yarn. Friday, February 26, 2010. Scarf based on the One Skein Scarf from Stitch 'N Bitch Crochet: The Happy Hooker. This pattern is great for when I just need something to keep my hands busy. It's simple and I have it stuck in my head pretty well. I wish I could get the Queen Anne scarf stuck like that but I evidently have filled up those brain cells with information about Marc Singer's oeuvre. Thursday, February 25, 2010. A little something for my Mom.

These are the chronicles of Lori, the smiles, laughter, headaches and tears. A crazy lady a crazy man = three crazy kiddos and another on the way, with a life of crazy happenings. 10 things I bet you did know about me! Find me.&the Kitchen Sink. Am I failing as a mom? I asked myself this question several times this past month. And it's probably in the same way most moms think of failing. Am I juggling enough? Where am I going so horribly wrong? Why can I not master this balancing act? Well I don't know a...

Chronicles of a Crohnie. My journey with Crohn's Disease, life, love, and everything in between. Wednesday, November 21, 2012. My advice for new Crohnies. Sometimes when I sit and think I remember when I was first diagnosed with Crohn's. I remember being 16 and scared, confused, curious, angry, sad. every emotion in the book. You name it, I felt it. Guess what ladies and gents? This is 100% normal. I worry about anyone who's like "oh hey new lifelong disease, let's be friends." At least right away. Getti...
