Friday, June 8, 2012. May 2012 - More visitors from Americay! We had more visitors from back home (upstate New York) - our friends Sharon from Ithaca and Sally from Albany came to Ireland for six days. The trip was short but sweet. We were hoping for good weather for their visit but the first few days were chilly and damp. We headed to the Burren and took a hike to a hilltop overlooking Galway Bay and the Connemara mountains in the distance. We stopped at Poulanabrone, a 3000 year-old Neolithic tomb.

Sunday, November 14, 2010. Skellig Michael is a splintery little shard of an island 9 miles from the coast of Kerry. This wild and remote place was inhabited continuously by monks from the 7th to 12th century. Now it's a World Heritage Site, and it's been high on our list of places to go while we're living in Ireland. Last view of the mainland. We took the boat with the cute little mascot dog, Nini.
