I learned today that the far left lane is for the slower vehicles so at least when we have had to stop in traffic it was not in the fast lane! Of course, you are still allowed to pass a slower vehicle on the left of the slow lane if there is sufficient dirt. We have even gone on something that looked like it might have once been a sidewalk.
