Night Visitors | Chuckatmidlife

Just another WordPress.com site. September 27, 2010. I was happy where I was. When I awoke, it felt like I received a message from her: She really was happy where she was. As I fall asleep each night, I always welcome my visitors who have passed from this life, and the chance to spend some precious time with them once again. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. Just another WordPress.com site. Impaired Vision →. September 9, 2010. Every morning I’m confronted by what the sadist (narcissist? Yes, I could hire someone to, at the very least, remove the floor-to-ceiling mirror directly across from the toilet, but I think it’s glued on, would require extensive work to remove, massive repair to the drywall, paint, and you know, money. And overnight guests who are new to our house, I’m sorry! When you’re in there, just focus on your face and breathe, breathe, breathe.

Just another WordPress.com site. Good Scents →. September 13, 2010. I’m farsighted and need glasses for reading but not for driving, watching TV, or other activities, so have never considered contacts. For all I know, you don’t need them when you’re farsighted. I’ve never really inquired. When I’m not reading, my glasses are repositioned on the top of my head. It’s my signature look. Yep, I did. No problem, since my right eye is the good one. Right eyelid? That’s where it gets tricky there’s always a gap...

Just another WordPress.com site. My father had three sons yet always called me Charlie, Chuck or Charles instead of my given name. He’s gone now and I never thought to ask him why. Now it’s a mystery I’ll never solve. I’m 50 plus and if that’s the new 30 something (or is it 40 something? So, I’ve been around awhile and I’ve got some thoughts. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. From heaven | I Want A Burger

I Want A Burger. Tales from an Experimental Vegetarian. Teetering Pedestal →. October 2, 2010. As you know, the veg experiment – with no meat whatsoever – was really only supposed to last the month of September. So how’d I do? Pretty well, overall. As previously reported, I consumed trout with no guilt about nine days in. At a wedding I went to recently, I sort of accidentally-on-purpose chowed down on some blue cheese-bacon dip (the bacon was very tiny! Y’all, that shrimp was. So what happens now? You a...

I Want A Burger. Tales from an Experimental Vegetarian. From heaven →. September 30, 2010. Tonight, I feel pretty cranky. Not really sure why – sometimes you just get in a mood. I was looking around the house, thinking,. Gee, what would be awesome is if a fairy appeared and cleaned this place up AND made me a lovely meal too. Adding a little bit worked like a charm – those leaves wilted faster than a nerd rejected by a cheerleader. This entry was posted in Uncategorized. From heaven →. Email check failed...

I Want A Burger. Tales from an Experimental Vegetarian. The mother of necessity →. October 17, 2010. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love Mark Bittman. I was totally onboard with his sardonic sense of humor and the great, research-backed points he was making. What I didn’t like at the end was how he took questions. A woman got up, mentioned she was a small farmer and asked him his opinion on a couple of topics. He said, in a really snotty tone, “Well, I. Buddy, every single one of us in that audien...

I Want A Burger. Tales from an Experimental Vegetarian. Another recipe →. September 18, 2010. I’m writing this on an absolutely gorgeous morning – the man is still slumbering, I’m enjoying the house with the windows open and fall air and sun streaming in, a bowl of oatmeal and berries in front of me. Went to spin today and one of my favorite sub instructors was there. As we were starting to go up a hill, she said, “Take a couple of deep breaths. Set yourself up for success.”. Take a couple of deep breaths.

I Want A Burger. Tales from an Experimental Vegetarian. September 16, 2010. It’s been a couple of days since I’ve posted – let me plead “business trip” as my very worthy excuse. Those are hard sometimes from an eating standpoint – you’re out of your routine and your element. But now, I’m back! Quinoa with Black Beans and Warm Spice. 3 cloves garlic, minced fine. 2 onions, chopped. 1 red bell pepper, chopped. 1 can of diced tomatos. 5 good handfuls of spinach. 1 can black beans, rinsed. 2 TBS of olive oil.

I Want A Burger. Tales from an Experimental Vegetarian. Newer posts →. September 10, 2010. Yesterday, my sweetie and I went out to celebrate a friend’s birthday at a restaurant of his choice: Outback. I really like Michael Pollan’s Food Rules – he basically touts eating as close to the natural state of things as possible. Not too much. Not too processed. More plants than anything else. Those are the guidelines I must keep in my brain. What are the tricks you use to stay on the straight and healthy? But t...

I Want A Burger. Tales from an Experimental Vegetarian. The mother of necessity. October 22, 2010. I like grocery shopping on Fridays – there’s something pleasant about getting ready for the weekend and the week ahead. Thinking about the nice meals you might make. Mulling over treats. Today, I had motivation to show some ingenuity because my beloved had taken our car to work. What sort of “garbage pail” meals do you make? This entry was posted in vegetarian. A mildly toxic cocktail
Upgrade to paid account! A mildly toxic cocktail. One part distractable, a half measure of excitable and a twist of whimsical. Apr 27th, 2013 at 11:59 AM. I discovered today that I can stroll down Castro. Stroll and appreciate my surroundings—so many pretty trees and, yes, people. That I dont get really anxious because there are people—so many people!
