Chums, Inc. was organized in 1946 in the City of Norfolk, VA by three close friends, Mary Ward Barnes, Joyce Tate Brown,. And Theodora Jackson Cora. In 1952, the organization was chartered and incorporated. Chums greatness is celebrated each February on a local or regional level as the membership honors its founders and each October with the convening of its National Conclave.
