Community Groups and Organisations. December 2016 - this section of the site is now active and receiving entries. We meet at Alton village hall on Tuesday evenings. Caldon and Uttoxeter Canals Trust. Denstone Players stages productions several times a year to sell out crowds at Denstone village hall. Denstone WI is a very active group that very kindly collaborated with the Churnet Valley event in Denstone on 9th March 2017. Our birds and wildlife are increasingly vulnerable in a rapidly-changing world.

Churnetside
Churnetside is the name given to the area around Cheddleton near Leek in the North Staffordshire Moorlands. It takes its name from the river Churnet which flows through the valley there. Situated on the border of the Peak District National Park, and also being near Alton Towers amusment park, it has become poplular for visitors.
