Sha's TRI-scapades: Be The Rookie!
http://triscapades.blogspot.com/2009/05/be-rookie.html
The sporting escapades of a triathlete. Wednesday, May 6, 2009. The Rookie is on May 10, just 3 days away. Texas Ski Ranch is definitely one of my favourite courses. I did my first race there, and the shallow pond is a great way of getting used to open water. This is going to be my warm-up tri - and also my first full tri since Oct 2007. (Last summer, I did a relay tri, so I don't really count that.) So, I'm excited and happy to be back in the swing of things. My goals for the race are pretty modest:.

The sporting escapades of a triathlete. Monday, September 7, 2009. My first Olympic Distance! Finishing time: 4hours 8min :). Sunday, September 6, 2009. It's hard to believe it's the night before my target race - the Austin Triathlon. I first signed up for the race in April, and prepared over the last 4-5 months for my first Olympic Distance. It's amazing how quickly time passes, and it's insightful to observe the ups and downs of training which in many ways parallels life itself. While this may sound si...

Sha's TRI-scapades: Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but Bikes and Clips excite me
http://triscapades.blogspot.com/2011/06/sticks-and-stones-may-break-my-bones.html
The sporting escapades of a triathlete. Monday, June 13, 2011. Sticks and Stones may break my bones, but Bikes and Clips excite me. I took Optimus for a spin after what seemed like a lifetime. After months of being busy with being busy, I finally decided that I had to start training. For whatever reason, when I pursue my other life passions, personal fitness is the sacrificial lamb. When I began training again, the easiest activity to start was swimming, but the most exciting was biking! Chinese cannibal...

My first race of the 2011 multisport season came in the form of an Olympic distance Duathlon- Greater Gator Bait in Boerne, TX. Last year I did the sprint version of this same race. The race has a challenging bike ride that takes us through one Category 4 climb and one Category 5 climb. I ate the nutrition that I had planned- GU SHOT blocks! 245 miles in 1h 24min @17.5 MPH. So far so good. I had a good transition ...

Run so that no one can catch you :). Monday, July 20, 2009. I said Howdy to Howdy Du! Yesterday I completed the 2009 Howdy Duathlon. It was my first Duathlon, although I had been battling a troubled left hamstring, my training had been pretty solid. I had a few long bike sessions, a couple of short runs and some gym sessions. But I think I still was undercooked and in this report I will explain why. Run - 5k (2 * 1.5 mile loop). Time = 23 mins. T1 - 1.16. Bike - 17 miles (2 * 8.5 mile loop). T2 - 1.16.
