coolnina97: April 2005
http://coolnina97.blogspot.com/2005_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 28, 2005. Just got back from seeing " Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. With Robert, Zoë, Giles and Lola. I knew nothing about this film, aside from the fact that Robert giggles every time he picks up the book, and giggles even more as he reads out lines to me. Try as I might, I just don't get the joke. So, it was with this veritable tabula rasa that I sat down to watch the movie. My thoughts? Before I go, I saw on the cover of OK! I wouldn't want a backstabber like that to be my bridesmai...

coolnina97: March 2005
http://coolnina97.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Back in London, and why Virgin rocks. What a load of complicated bollocks. Once on the plane, the food and service were good - no complaints there. But no overnight bag? Both Robert and I are exhausted, due to an eight-hour time difference between here and Denver. We've not had a nap today and have every intention of staying awake until at least 9pm before going to bed. I also have work with Paul tomorrow, so I need to be fresh for that. letters from london: Bodrum (Part II)
http://letters-from-london.blogspot.com/2015/07/bodrum-part-ii.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. This is what I found when we first heard of Bodrum:. Bodrum is a charming and fascinating little port, 270 km. south of Izmir, on the Aegean coast of Turkey. It is located on the southern coast of Bodrum Peninsula, it faces the Greek island of Kos and at a point that checks the entry into the Gulf of Gokova. Who wouldn't want to visit such an exotic and historically rich sounding place? We decided against it because of the anticipated heat at that time of the year. Here is a transc...

letters from london: The world's smallest bikini
http://letters-from-london.blogspot.com/2006/10/worlds-smallest-bikini.html
Friday, October 06, 2006. The world's smallest bikini. So this is supposed to be the world's smallest 'legal' bikini. I guess by legal they mean the least amount of material you can use to cover your body in public without being arrested. This is probably discounting large parts of America which would like to make pretty much everything illegal except chewing tobacco, marrying your cousin, or keeping large loaded guns in the house. See more (or is it less? Of this teeny bikini here. What they don't tell ...

letters from london: French kiss
http://letters-from-london.blogspot.com/2007/07/french-kiss.html
Saturday, July 07, 2007. On the subject of Rufus, whose blog ( That's how it happened. Is brilliant btw - especially if you are into bee keeping, trainers, and very obscure cuisine ( rotten shark. Among just some of the delicacies he has sampled), I found this brilliant collection of photos among his recent links. They are by two French photographers who have taken pictures of people and then very cleverly photo-shopped the image so the person is portrayed kissing themselves. Posted by letters from london.

letters from london: Ralph and the stewardess - the story
http://letters-from-london.blogspot.com/2007/03/ralph-and-stewardess-story.html
Friday, March 09, 2007. Ralph and the stewardess - the story. This is Lisa Robertson, the Quantas stewardess who got sacked for having sex with Ralph Fiennes in an aeroplane loo,. Enroute from Sydney to Mumbai. Finally we get the whole story - from the horse's mouth! Here are some excerpts from an interview with her which appeared in First magazine 3-9 March 2007 - photos from the same source. From what I can tell in the article this is the last time they saw eachother. Unsurprisingly, Lisa got sacked...

letters from london: Off the beaten track drinking Evian: Or Bodrum (Part I)
http://letters-from-london.blogspot.com/2015/07/off-beaten-track-drinking-evian-or.html
Sunday, July 26, 2015. Off the beaten track drinking Evian: Or Bodrum (Part I). I like to think of myself as a traveller, as opposed to what I really am which is someone who likes to experience new things but in a fairly safe and sanitised manner. I see a lot of myself in David Suchet's portrayal of. Before going I spoke to a Turkish mum from my son's school over coffee. You know in that way you do when you choose one individual and assign them the job of being the expert and mouthpiece for the entir...

http://letters-from-london.blogspot.com/2014/07/night-must-fall-and-we-shall-be-forced.html
Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Night must fall and we shall be forced to camp. This holiday we have used Uber for the first time here on Long Island. Our first driver was a large African American man who had a 4 out of 5 rating. Upon entering his car his said enthusiastically "Hmmmmhmmm, what is that smell? My husband and I looked at each other and then at him, "Er, why? Subject header credit to Withnail and I (1987). Full quotation: Monty: "Come on lads, let's get home, the sky's beginning to. letters from london: Traveller wedding
http://letters-from-london.blogspot.com/2007/08/traveller-wedding.html
Sunday, August 12, 2007. I didn't know about Travellers here in the UK. Also known as Tinkers) until I saw a documentary on TV about a Traveller wedding. These girls put Jordan to shame, in that despite what are clearly limited incomes, their dad's don't bat an eyelid to splash out something like 12 thousand pounds on wedding dresses. And when it comes to the latter, there only appears to be one guideline: The bigger, the better. I found this clip on Dlisted. Posted by letters from london. Traveller and ...
