Albany (NY) Daily Photo. Photos of Albany, New York - from the historic to the random. Monday, April 20, 2015. The King of Washington Park Lake. I nearly had a heart attack and, of course, I didn't have a camera with me. A replica of Henry Hudson's ship unfurled its sails near the Corning Preserve yesterday as part of "Early Albany - A Hudson River Festival." It was an excellent event featuring Dutch Colonial and Native American culture, including blacksmiths, a drum circle, dancing, and other exhibits. Attendance was very good and it proves that local history and heritage can indeed be an attraction.

Even so, these aren’t the primary reasons I find it st...
