These three cards are Massey's Hotel and Restaurant located on the n.w. corner of Eighth and Race. I am guessing this is at the Mayflower at Oak & Reading The Colony on Walnut. Pearl Street Market Avondale Between 4th and 5th sts. Between 2nd and 3rd Sts. Manhattan at 17 W. 5th St. Owner-L. C. Riggs. These cards are of the Wheel Cafe on Walnut near 6th. Meyer Silverglade. The cemetery opened on September 1, 1845 with the burial of 2-year old Julia Brisbane. Her body was moved to Wisconsin in 1897 thus making Mary Louisa Ernst who was buried 9-18-1845 as the longest-term resident. A 1845 rule stated that Horses must not be left without the driver. Automobiles were first allowed in 1911. Spring Grove is the oldest operating crematory in the United States. Wednesday, September 11, 2013. In 1904, Friedrich’s widow sold the brewery to George Lampe and Gerhardt Schmidt and they formed The Crown Brewery. They brewed beer up until prohibition and attempted to stay in business through prohibition by making root beer and a near beer product called, “Tang”. And unveiled in 1887. At one time, the statue stood in the middle of the intersection of Eighth and Race Street on a taller pedestal but since that time it has been place on a lower pedestal and moved out of the street because it annoyed horse drawn carriage and automobile drivers.
