Book Buzz: Sam and the Lucky Money

http://cindysbookbuzz.blogspot.com/2010/02/sam-and-lucky-money.html

Reading and talking about children's literature. Sunday, February 14, 2010. Sam and the Lucky Money. Sam and the Lucky Money. Is my favorite book to read in celebration of Chinese New Year. My kids love it. It's a wonderful story of giving. We have a nice size population of Vietnamese students at my school who celebrate Chinese New Year and give the beautiful red envelopes. Over the years, I have been blessed by their spirit of giving and am grateful. Serious and willful misconduct. Welcome to Book Buzz!

April 10, 2008 — Cindy. Watch out because thousands of librarians will be invading Dallas next week-me included! It’s the Texas Library Association Annual Conference. Doesn’t it sound exciting! I know, I know what you’re thinking … all those stuffy ladies telling everyone to shush, don’t lose that book, and you owe a fine. That meeting must be pretty boring. 3 Responses to “Librarians in Dallas! April 10, 2008 at 7:12 am. I love that you’re a librarian. hey are you gonna meet brian selznick? You are comm...

Community: Found in a Children’s Book. December 29, 2007 — Cindy. I just finished a children’s chapter book (as we call it at school) this week. It is titled Elijah of Buxton by Chrisptopher Paul Curtis. I will be reviewing it on my book blog. Do we open our hearts and homes to meet the needs of new believers? Is this the type of community we are creating at Sagemont? Shouldn’t we the church be a community even stronger then this example? Do we fight for each other? December 25, 2007 — Cindy.
