A dissection of that which attempts to shape who we are
cinema of nobody: Fearless Reporters, James Bond, and Tail-Gunner Joe
http://cinemaofnobody.blogspot.com/2008/04/fearless-reporters-james-bond-and-tail.html
A dissection of that which attempts to shape who we are. Friday, April 11, 2008. Fearless Reporters, James Bond, and Tail-Gunner Joe. No need for lengthy deconstruction here. I just want to make three quick points about three films. All The President's Men. All The President's Men perhaps did more to establish the myth of the press as tenacious truth-seekers than any other film. And three cheers for the concept. But can anyone imagine the process we see in this flick taking place today? No need for a cor...
cinema of nobody: 괴물 Gwoemul - The Host
http://cinemaofnobody.blogspot.com/2008/09/gwoemul-host.html
A dissection of that which attempts to shape who we are. Sunday, September 14, 2008. 괴물 Gwoemul - The Host. What a lot of horror movies there are. Was it always thus? In this regard, The Host. Is a salutary lesson. If you do happen to like movies that scare the pants off you, The Host. Apart Sure enough, all the reviews of The Host. Concentrated on the scariness of it. God forbid anyone should dwell on the context in which it was surrounded. In the West context doesn't exist. Lessons aside, The Host.
cinema of nobody: Cloverfield
http://cinemaofnobody.blogspot.com/2009/03/cloverfield.html
A dissection of that which attempts to shape who we are. Monday, March 16, 2009. Calling all young film-makers! Here's today's challenge - To come up with a film that contains neither plot, nor characters, nor themes, nor originality, nor even intelligibility, and still get major studio backing and worldwide release. Don't worry, it can be done. And you don't even need a tripod! Did your image of the world in front of you become some variety of unintelligible? Did anyone see The Bourne Ultimatum? Cloverf...
cinema of nobody: Shattered Glass
http://cinemaofnobody.blogspot.com/2008/05/shattered-glass.html
A dissection of that which attempts to shape who we are. Saturday, May 10, 2008. No prizes for guessing which one Glass is. Further, Glass's familiarity and friendliness are a one-way street. He mistrusts reciprocation. When a male coworker brings him a drink late at night he cops hostility from Glass. And sure enough, Glass quickly minimises the window on his computer. But might this also be a demonstration of projection? That no one would follow up? May we view this as further testament to his hubris?
cinema of nobody: Blueberry
http://cinemaofnobody.blogspot.com/2008/01/blueberry.html
A dissection of that which attempts to shape who we are. Thursday, January 24, 2008. He's an extraordinary fellow, Moebius. He became a Buddhist and decided he didn't want to do stories of conflict that pivoted on good and evil. A tough gig. Sure enough, you end up with stories like this one. Is 'story' even the right word? All the standard elements are arse-about. Nothing follows your expectations. Not the hero, not the villain, not the showdown, not nothing. How unsatisfying! Be renamed the Blueberries.

church of nobody: September 2011
http://churchofnobody.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
He who talks loud, saying nothing. Monday, September 26, 2011. With the lightest touch imaginable, The stars dance to her naive gravity. There is nothing I can ask you. And nothing you can tell me. Not without we were face to face, and then I could only kiss you. And lose myself of course. My fall will be my own. Certainly you will push me. Cruel and beatific as I, like some flightless rail, panic and wonder at all those before me winged by evolution. Or were they? How the fuck did they do that? Cairo, E...
church of nobody: March 2012
http://churchofnobody.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
He who talks loud, saying nothing. Tuesday, March 20, 2012. A thought, a wisp of smoke, a thing without substance. There was a logic to nobody. A good deal of it was due to the shedding of things: from the warehouse workshop/apartment, to the selling of the machinery, the motorcycles, the furniture - to living out of a suitcase in Japan, China, and Italy, and finally to the old man's shoebox apartment in tourist town. Was that really ten years of living out of a suitcase? Made more and more sense. Thus u...
church of nobody: "Now we see if your Shaolin Being Sensible style can withstand my Wudang Shan Complete Idiot technique!"
http://churchofnobody.blogspot.com/2009/01/i-see-my-shaolin-being-sensible-style.html
He who talks loud, saying nothing. Monday, January 19, 2009. Now we see if your Shaolin Being Sensible. Style can withstand my Wudang Shan Complete Idiot. I'm not sure what I'm on about here. But why don't I start with Bruce Lee? He was really something. Even if all he'd done was master fencing, regular Western boxing, and Wing Chun Kung Fu, he'd have been legendary. But he went beyond these and came up with own style, Jeet Kune Do. Did anyone ever wonder where Jeet Kune Do went? What was that all about?

church of nobody: Crop Circles - QI and the absent Why?
http://churchofnobody.blogspot.com/2012/03/crop-circles-qi-and-absent-why.html
He who talks loud, saying nothing. Saturday, March 3, 2012. Crop Circles - QI and the absent Why? Hmm crop circles, eh? They were something I never bothered pursuing. Certainly they were curious but nothing I saw or read about them ever gave me pause. Maybe they were real, maybe they were fake - who knew? Thus I'd filed them under the category 'things about which I have no opinion'. And then QI lobbed up. But adoration aside, this is the BBC we're talking about and what with QI's insane popularity there'...

He who talks loud, saying nothing. Thursday, February 10, 2011. On Wed, Feb 9, 2011 at 3:45 PM, N's buddy C wrote:. Thought this would appeal to you. Subject: [S] Threat Levels. The Scots have raised their threat level from "Pissed Off" to "Let's get the Bastards." They don't have any other levels. This is the reason they have been used on the front line of the British army for the last 300 years. I think we'll need to cancel the barbie this weekend! Here's a list of quotes from the talmud. church of nobody: Les, I'm asking you directly
http://churchofnobody.blogspot.com/2012/03/les-im-asking-you-directly.html
He who talks loud, saying nothing. Saturday, March 17, 2012. Les, I'm asking you directly. Just lately I had a fellow in my comments section who wanted to tell me I ought not to trust Dave McGowan because he refuses to acknowledge the banking/zionist arm of the twin pillar death cult. Actually, to be honest he didn't use those terms - that's just me. In fact I suspect that he'd be of the opinion that the PTB are entirely Jewish and that there is no second pillar. Ie: the military childhood; the violent a...
church of nobody: Nothing and Everything and All Too Much
http://churchofnobody.blogspot.com/2011/10/nothing-and-everything-and-all-too-much.html
He who talks loud, saying nothing. Monday, October 17, 2011. Nothing and Everything and All Too Much. Bursting. I am bursting. My heart is bursting. It overwhelms me. The energy coursing out of me will not stop. An invisible sun, it burns without heat. Too intense to stand and yet impossible to look away from. A burnt out retina for a revelling mind's eye. And what would that fellow say to mortal men? Is conversation even possible with that silent white-noise roar filling your ears? It will kill me of co...
church of nobody: December 2010
http://churchofnobody.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
He who talks loud, saying nothing. Friday, December 24, 2010. Well, that was the clerihew year that was: so many sparkling moments, so many of the world's movers and shakers and other sodomites reduced to four lines of nonsense poetry. The little dog barked to see such fun, indeed. And quite right too. May your cow jump over your moon and your dish run away with your spoon. Merry Clerihew Christmas and a Happy Clerihew-less new year. And his cheerleader tush. In the Skull and Bones Den. Burned in the dark.

Harischandra Sakharam Bhatwadekar, who happened to be present for the Lumiere presentation, was keen on getting hold of the Lumiere Cinematograph and trying it out himself rather than show the Lumiere films to a wider audience. The public reception accorded to Wrangler Paranjpye at Chowapatty on his return from England with the coveted distinction he got at Cambridge was covered by Bhatwadekar in December 1901- the first Indian topical or actuality film was born. 出典 http:/ www.koshigaya.bunkyo...ビフィズス...

cinema of nobody
A dissection of that which attempts to shape who we are. Monday, July 27, 2009. One day post-modernism will be dead and Quentin Tarantino and I will both be out of a gig. Huzzah, huzzah, the world rejoices. Finally we'll have some art that doesn't disappear up its own arse! We're not far off! I know everyone went completely nuts for Pulp Fiction, but don't think of it as this-scene-that-scene (each breathlessly following the other), instead think of it in its entirety. Did it have one? A totality of bits.

Cinema of the Abstract
Cinema of the Abstract. Monday, 17 August 2015. Music of the Abstract: Daddy Cool by Boney M. Like any other genre when it becomes very popular and mainstream, disco became like what would happen to punk after and progressive rock before, forced back into the underground or diverge into various sub-genres. I confess though that, just listening to a disco compilation album, you realise how good the music actually is. After growing up with Disco Stu from The Simpsons. Album cover would've be eyebrow raisin...
