Cinema Ramble: January 2013
http://cinemaramble.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 15 January 2013. Top 10 Films of 2012. It took forever to get this post finished. I was worried 2013 would finish before I got this 2012 wrap-up done. Hastily written at any spare moment, I’m just happy that this little list actually exists, regardless of whether it makes sense or not. Also, yay to me for breaking a 5-month freeze on this blog by actually posting something. Is the blog officially unfrozen? That I managed to sink my eyes into. 10 FAREWELL, MY QUEEN (Benoit Jacquot; France/ Spain).

Hendrix Movie Reviews: April 2014
http://hendrixcinema.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 17, 2014. Week 14 and 15 in film. Noah (Darren Aronofsky, 2014). The Saint (Phillip Noyce, 1997). This film begs for a lame statement: Val Kilmer can't disguise this film being bad and very disappointing. 3/10. Tape (Richard Linklater, 2001). Ordet (Carl Theodor Dreyer, 1955). Killing Zoe (Roger Avary, 1994). One of many in the bank heist category. Builds up with a lot of stupid behaviour involving drugs and booze, leaving not much to be a surprise. 5/10. Submarine (Richard Ayoade, 2010).

Hendrix Movie Reviews: February 2014
http://hendrixcinema.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 18, 2014. Week 7 in film. Lost in Translation (Sofia Coppola, 2003). Sometimes I can't resist to watch one of my favorites again. In most cases my enthousiasm grows, as is the case with Lost in Translation. I guess every girl goes through a photography phase.". Venus in Fur (Roman Polanski, 2013). Polanski adapts another play, and makes it even more minimal than Carnage. Maybe I would have appreciated it more if I knew the play, not bad, but became interesting too late. 6/10. Some great...

Hendrix Movie Reviews: July 2013
http://hendrixcinema.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 28, 2013. Week 30 in film. Hot week, not a lot of films. To the Wonder (Terrence Malick, 2012). So, this is film is, just like The Tree of Life. Where this works better). In between it was hard to connect to this film. A Malick film about relationships should have had a bigger impact on me. 6.5/10. Napoleon Dynamite (Jared Hess, 2004). Bob le flambeur (Jean-Pierre Melville, 1956). Wednesday, July 24, 2013. Week 29 in film. Daisies (Vera Chytilova, 1966). Red 2 (Dean Parisot, 2013). If you do...

Hendrix Movie Reviews: March 2014
http://hendrixcinema.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 17, 2014. Week 10 and 11 in film. True Detective - Season 1 (Nic Pizzolatto, 2014). La haine (Mathieu Kassovitz, 1995). Decent character study of angry youth in the French banlieus. They are bored, violent and represent the problems that are present. Despite all violence, hostility and sincere characters this film didn't move me as I had anticipated. 7/10. Soylent Green (Richard Fleischer, 1973). Touchez pas au grisbi (Jacques Becker, 1954). The Devil's Eye (Ingmar Bergman, 1960). This must...
