Specialization is for Insects. Robert A. Heinlein. Tuesday, May 29, 2012. New Album Release: sans jamais ni demain. I’ve just released a new album on Bandcamp: sans jamais ni demain. It’s a collection of experimental electronic music and recent explorations. Nothing grandiose, but I felt the need to update my bandcamp and share what I’ve been working on. A little more details about the songs:. The longing for repetition. 8220;Happiness is the longing for repetition.”. Samplewiz is quite powerful. You...

Specialization is for Insects: Where I propose to go
http://no-insects.blogspot.com/2013/01/where-i-propose-to-go.html
Specialization is for Insects. Robert A. Heinlein. Thursday, January 31, 2013. Where I propose to go. These last few months since Y2KX 2. Have seen much development on my meta-trombone. The first thing I wanted to do after those performances was to replace the first instance of Mobius. In my signal chain. I think the way I was using it (as a sampler, rather than a looper) caused it to crash in performance. After some research, I opted for Expert Sleepers’ Crossfade Loop Synth. To display system status in...

Specialization is for Insects: Tools of the Trade – Meta-trombone Edition
http://no-insects.blogspot.com/2013/04/tools-of-trade-meta-trombone-edition.html
Specialization is for Insects. Robert A. Heinlein. Monday, April 22, 2013. Tools of the Trade – Meta-trombone Edition. After every show, someone always wants to get more information about the technology that makes my meta-trombone. Possible. For the benefit of those who cannot make it out to one of my concerts, I thought I would briefly list and describe the hardware and software I rely on at this stage of the instrument’s development. Mac Book Pro (mid-2010 i7). Apple iPod Touch (4G). Into my set, but t...

Specialization is for Insects: Meta-Trombone Revisited
http://no-insects.blogspot.com/2012/07/meta-trombone-revisited.html
Specialization is for Insects. Robert A. Heinlein. Friday, July 27, 2012. The recent release of version 2.0 of Mobius. Has spurred me to redesign my meta-trombone. Patch Since I can have both the new and the old version in the same patch, my matrix mixer (and some of the most complex patching) can be eliminated by using both versions of the looper. . The first looper will be the one that is “played” by trombone notes. This is what I mean by playing the looper:. Something else to which I’ve given ...

Specialization is for Insects: Bring a map
http://no-insects.blogspot.com/2012/07/bring-map.html
Specialization is for Insects. Robert A. Heinlein. Thursday, July 12, 2012. Controller mapping, the art of selecting which parameters is controlled by what hardware, has been on my mind a lot these days as I prepare for an upcoming performance as a Featured Artist at this year's Y2K Live Looping Festival in California (I'll be playing in San Jose and Santa Cruz). Manipulations: Loops, cutting and splicing sounds, delay, pitch shifting and reverb. This is the audio flow I came up with:. My looper is Mobius.

Software Loopers #1 - Möbius ~ Vocal Live Looping
http://wezloop.blogspot.com/2012/02/after-scouring-web-for-suitable-looping.html
The Music and Musings of Paul Wesley. Sub Child Category 1. Sub Child Category 2. Sub Child Category 3. Saturday, 25 February 2012. Software Loopers #1 - Möbius. After scouring the web for looping tools, I stumbled upon Möbius. This terrific piece of software is the creation of Jeff Larson; a developer based out of Austin, Texas. It began life as a virtual representation of the Gibson Echoplex, but has since moved on to become one of the most flexible and adaptable loopers available. Link to Circular Labs.

Specialization is for Insects: Y2KX+2 Livelooping Festival
http://no-insects.blogspot.com/2012/10/y2kx2-livelooping-festival.html
Specialization is for Insects. Robert A. Heinlein. Friday, October 26, 2012. Y2KX 2 Livelooping Festival. Last week I had the privilege to perform at the 12th annual Y2K Livelooping Festival. In California. This festival is, by nature and design, as eclectic and wonderful as organizer Rick Walker. 160; At times, it seemed performers shared nothing but an attentive audience and an interest in using the techno-musical wizardry of livelooping. Only used an iPhone and a DL4. For his set. This min...Is one...

The life of a solo songwriter/programmer/producer is not an easy one - many times I wish I could lose the ability and urge to create and perform, and just veg out in front of the TV instead. But something keeps me going…. Subscribe to this blog: paste http:/ www.paddymusic.org.uk/paddyblog.xml. Into your blogging software. Thanks to my video crew!
