April 30, 2015 at 3:30 pm ( Uncategorized. The Father alone is God, for he is the sole and sufficient source of both Son and Spirit. The Son alone is God, for there is nothing outside his idea that can known about God, and this “nothing outside” must include existence. The Spirit alone is God, for there is no reason for either the Son or Father to exist except as expressed in him. But what else is the abstract idea itself, or consciousness so far as it makes the abstract idea? Nature has both what is per...

August 7, 2015 at 9:54 am ( Uncategorized. 1) Bill Vallicella and Randall Rauser. Have both defended this argument:. A proof is a logically valid argument based on self-evident premises. We do not have a logically valid argument based on self-evident premises for the existence of God. I think both premises are wrong, but in fairness to Vallicella and Rauser, I can’t prove them false by just showing them the sort of argument they had in mind. So why do I disagree with them? 4) It’s given. 5) So (a) some p...

Our great difference from the scholastic, William James remarks in. The Will to Believe. Lies in the way we face. That is, James thinks the scholastic faces backwards to indubitable principles of knowledge, whereas the pragmatist faces forward toward the practical results of his opinions. James might be right about. There is...
