AT Thru Hike Info. Monday, March 24, 2014. What we've been up to in the past couple months. Why is it that when I actually do. Have some sort of life update to post about, I still don't blog? Scooters to ride in the hallways? Beau has been at KPMG for 2 weeks now and so far it's been really great. For as long as I am able. How great is this? So that's that. I love how much I love our apartment (thanks, parents! Not that I'm the one doing the work or anything. He goes to China in May with his class! Crazy...

AT Thru Hike Info. Friday, March 29, 2013. That one time we had a sweet potato themed dinner. I've been known to go overboard when I find a good sale. Like the time when I bought 20 lbs of sweet potatoes. They were $.25/lb! They are one of my very favorite foods, and can be added in almost any meal. Naturally, decided to have a sweet potato themed dinner. We invited some new friends from the ward and I think they may have thought we were a little weird. All photos from their respective blogs). Okay, it s...

AT Thru Hike Info. Friday, January 25, 2013. What to Wear on the Appalachian Trail. One of the things that intimidated me when I was preparing for my thru hike was deciding what to wear. Summer seemed easy enough- running shorts. And a wicking shirt. But packing for winter hiking looked daunting. Take too many layers and you're feeling bulky, carrying too much weight, and spent too much money. Take too few and you're miserable because you're cold. Or you have hypothermia. Game over! A full length zipper ...

mackenzie and beau: Thanksgiving on the AT
http://beauandmackenzie.blogspot.com/2013/12/thanksgiving-on-at.html
AT Thru Hike Info. Friday, December 6, 2013. Thanksgiving on the AT. Months ago, we decided that we would use the 4 day Thanksgiving weekend to go hiking on the AT. It worked out nicely that my uncle and cousin had similar plans, so we were able to coordinate with them for drop off and pickup. It's too bad we couldn't join the Parks or Dicksons who were both coincidentally in Texas, but it's hard to justify traveling for such a short and hectic holiday. Heading up to Tinker. Eventually we had to get up a...

AT Thru Hike Info. Tuesday, January 14, 2014. Random blog post on this wonderful Sunday. Can we talk about how great 9am church is? I'm home by 12:30, and the rest of the day is free for lounging, going for walks, napping. oh and reading scriptures and general conference talks of course. Naturally, this is the only picture I took on Christmas Day. We also made crepes, I went running, we went to the Tagg's for some feasting, etc. etc. Oh, and our anniversary! Well, I think this was the day after. But ...

Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Top Picks; Winterizing - Blankets. This one (enter affordable brand here) has lasted me two winters so far! If your horse is like example B, I am sure you would laugh and point to your trash bag filled with yet another. Affordable" blanket down the drain. I am not saying that you can't find an affordable blanket that is well-constructed. No, I am just saying that if you look at the long-term, affordable might not be realistic. One of my most favorites is the Rambo Wug. Each ...

Country Sporthorse: Top Picks; Equestrian Gifts of 2010 Part 1
http://countryoxer.blogspot.com/2010/11/top-picks-equestrian-gifts-of-2010-part.html
Saturday, November 27, 2010. Top Picks; Equestrian Gifts of 2010 Part 1. It is that time of year.again. It comes so fast I tell you! Black Friday, which I presumably avoid - a day of horses and riding seems much more appetizing - is just not my thing. But you have to admit, the news about deals, sales and merchandise priced below anything you'd see any other time of year, is sometimes eye-catching. But it's never that appealing, unless it's related to horses of course! Here are my top three of very many.

Saturday, December 4, 2010. Tack; The White Saddle! I blogged about Tekna. A while back. Overall my reaction was positive. But is it just me, or does synthetic tack of any kind, create a hard-to-avoid, immediate judgment of; novice, cheap etc? It seems that way. But maybe this new company will convert some. So far, it seems responses have been pretty positive. What do you think? Upon looking at their website recently, I found this. Yes, that is right! A white Dressage saddle! Thursday, December 2, 2010.
