By Ryan M. Jones, Museum Educator. April 21, 2015 50th Commemoration of Malcolm X. A year prior, Malcolm was speaking up to four times a week. Now, he had much more time to spare. Nation of Islam leader Elijah Muhammad had silenced Malcolm for remarks he made after President John F. Kennedy’s assassination in Dallas in November 1963. Malcolm referred to the assassination as the chickens coming home to roost. What made Malcolm a target? Malcolm’s influence was evident in Stokely Carmichael’s message We wa...

Anna Estrada: Cafe Royale
http://keribu.blogspot.com/2011/07/cafe-royale.html
Saturday, July 23, 2011. After a two year absence, returning like a sheepish, recalcitrant lover, I beg your pardon. Much has distracted and led me astray, but since there is no excuse. I will give none. Tonight I invite you to join me tomorrow evening at the Cafe Royale in San Francisco, located at 800 Post at the corner of Leavenworth. I'll be joined by Ray Scott, Alex Baum, and Bob Blankenship. We'll be doing a nice selection of Brazilian, Latin, and Jazz standards. Music begins at 7:00 pm.
Anna Estrada: #44 on the Jazz Week World Music Chart
http://keribu.blogspot.com/2008/07/40-on-jazz-week-world-music-chart.html
Tuesday, July 22, 2008. 44 on the Jazz Week World Music Chart. My CD started to get some radio play across the country as the radio campaign got underway last week. and well. I guess it worked! In addition to debuting at #40 on the chart, I was #3 in terms of 'add ons'(the number of new stations that played my CD). The highlight was the fact it was featured on a syndicated show out of Seattle called Jazz After Hours. Please check the full review. I have another gig coming up at the Cliffhouse.

Who Cares?: Luxury
http://denisecares.blogspot.com/2007/11/luxury.html
Saturday, November 10, 2007. The luxury of blogging has to do with convenience. Whereas previously, before 9/11 and the War On Tarrah, great Amurrrican families prided themselves on the luxury of their own (oftimes quirky) traditions - ranging from touch football (a la the Kennedys) to observing 4:20 (as per the Clintons during their Arkansas governorship), nowadays, whatever suffices must suffice.
