Small Town Girl, Big City Life. Sunday, May 16, 2010. This past weekend I went back to the city I love and once called home.Chicago! Oh how I miss it! As much as I love being back in Michigan, I do miss Chicago. I love the hussle and bussle of the city, I love hearing people speak different languages while walking around the zoo and I love being able to try a new restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner (although I always end up sticking to my favorites)! The view of downtown from my old street. Coconu...

http://ashleyadw.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Small Town Girl, Big City Life. Wednesday, January 20, 2010. You're the God of this city. You're the King of these people. You're the Lord of this nation. You're the light in this darkness. You're the hope to the hopeless. You're the peace to the restless. For there is no one like our God. There is no one like You God. For greater things have yet to come. And greater things are still to be done. Greater things have yet to come. And greater things are still to be done here. Chris Tomlin, "God of This City".

http://ashleyadw.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Small Town Girl, Big City Life. Sunday, February 14, 2010. These were some "Valentine Chocolate Truffles" I made for Ryan. They are actually cake balls, did I fool you? I got the idea from Bakerella. And you can find the original recipe here. She has so many creative ideas for cakes and cupcakes, who knew a cake ball could be transformed into so many different delicious treats? Please watch out for me on the road, because if I get hit I will probably splatter like a bug hitting a windshield!

Small Town Girl, Big City Life: August 2010

Small Town Girl, Big City Life. Thursday, August 26, 2010. There's nothing I like better than supporting my local businesses, and farmers! I love being able to go to the farmers market and ask the farmer how long my veggies will stay good for, how long it will take for my peaches to ripen, and how to correctly harvest my basil. A few nights ago I made a dinner made from almost all local ingredients. Veggies (corn, pepper, zucchini, tomato) - Visser Farms. Goat Milk Cheddar Cheese - Green Meadow Dairy.

Small Town Girl, Big City Life. Tuesday, March 30, 2010. All Time Favorite Food - Pizza. My favorite food of all time is pizza. I can and will eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. To switch it up a bit, I thought I'd try to make a completely homemade pizza. I used a dough recipe from my Food Network Magazine "50 Pizzas" booklet and a sauce I found on the website Big Oven. I actually used a hodge-podge sauce recipes that I looked at. 1 can (14.5oz) diced tomatoes, do not drain. 1 can (6oz) tomato paste.

Small Town Girl, Big City Life. Thursday, October 28, 2010. My grandma showed me this craft in one of her magazines a while back and I decided to try it - especially since I had an extensive collection of jars I needed to get rid of. I always save my jars in hopes of putting them to use, and I finally did! The jars I used were spaghetti (certain spaghetti jars are actually mason jars, very cute!
