Both are available through the Helpline website and describe Wendy and Becky’s journeys from discovering they have the gene to after their operations. Claire and the genie. My story: the journey so far. I am 37 and happily married to a wonderful man who is 6ft 5 and affectionately known by all as “Big” and I have two beautiful children called Jemma (aged 4years) and Ben (aged 2years). Had anyone been tested by a genetics department? His responses were terrifying. Not only had numerous female members of the family died at an early age from breast cancer, he and four other members had been tested by the genetics team and found to carry the BRCA2 gene.
