E: Advice: Blog
http://eschmidteditingblog.blogspot.com/2008/12/it-is-actually-pretty-bizarre-how.html
December 1, 2008. It is actually pretty bizarre how similar me and my brother are, and not surprisingly, he came out to be a wannabe journalist/writer just as I did. Funny how neither of my parents have any interest in writing. My dad could be the worst speller on the face of the earth. My mom has the most annoying habit of pronouncing most words incorrectly. I love them dearly though. The advisor responded, "Blog.". Who is going to find it? Maybe we've all been doing too little with our class blogs....

E: Oops...
http://eschmidteditingblog.blogspot.com/2008/12/oops.html
December 3, 2008. So my dashboard lied to me and said I had 13 posts. I checked just to make sure. Only 12. So now it seems silly that I am writing a blog after my farewell blog, but let's just say it is an encore. I really enjoyed going over photo editing. I loved going through photos and choosing which ones I would run and wouldn't. The picture assignment was probably my favorite day of lecture. I think I might have to stick myself in the editing world eventually. December 3, 2008 at 5:54 PM.

E: Good 'Ol Spellcheck
http://eschmidteditingblog.blogspot.com/2008/12/so-i-was-recently-thinking-about-origin.html
December 2, 2008. So I was recently thinking about the origin and creation of spellcheck. Everyone knows what spellcheck is in our generation. It would be blasphemy to write a paper or essay or story without pressing the little abc check mark button before you print it. Also, the first spellcheckers did not suggest any corrections for the misspelled word, it simply just told you it was wrong. Computers nowadays even switch letters for you on their own if you make a mistake on a really common word. It...

E: Dessert March Madness to Spelling Madness
http://eschmidteditingblog.blogspot.com/2008/10/so-i-work-at-olive-garden.html
October 14, 2008. Dessert March Madness to Spelling Madness. So I work at the Olive Garden. Anyways, as I am walking toward the bracket to see who is in the Final Four (oh yes, a little mini March Madness dessert bracket), I see a huge sign that reads: FINAL FOUR, ONLY TWO WEEKS LEFT IN THE COMPITITION! The E and the I aren't even next to each other on the keyboard, so don't even try to play it off as a typo. I'm loving the friendly Final Four compITITION your bosses set up for you, too funny! Blame it o...

Words for Thought: What's a diverse person?
http://nicolenejati.blogspot.com/2008/10/whats-diverse-person.html
Sunday, October 26, 2008. What's a diverse person? I don't know if last week was diversity week or not, but I felt like I heard about the subject everywhere. It was discussed in three of my classes, there was a series about it in the Daily Illini. And a multicultural career fair. As I sat through lecture last week, I thought about my feelings on the topic. What exactly is a minority? Is it just race and gender related? I am multi-racial, one of which is white, is that considered a minority? Until the lat...

Words for Thought: A farewell to blogging
http://nicolenejati.blogspot.com/2008/12/farewell-to-blogging.html
Tuesday, December 2, 2008. A farewell to blogging. What I learned from blogging:. 1 Spelling and grammar mistakes are more frequent when you are typing than when you are writing. 2 If you don't know, check it out. I guess this is rule one of journalism, but I found myself doing this much more while blogging. Is newsworthy one or two words? Is reread one or two words? Does two-story have a hyphen? I hope someday people will call me the AP Stylebook. Ha. 4 Blogging is a commitment! I agree with Clair. ...
