Honduras: A Year in the Life of Episcopal Service

Honduras: A Year in the Life of Episcopal Service. Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Well once again I have disappeared for about a month and a half. Great apologies! But for those of you following the YASC lenten blog, I did have two posts during March, which just goes to show that as long as I have a very strict schedule I can get things done and I have no excuse for not posting here. (If you want to, you can follow that blog at yasclenten.blogspot.com). Our pretty amazing group. And we helped deliver a baby =).

Honduras: A Year in the Life of Episcopal Service: February 2014

http://www.claireharkey.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html

Honduras: A Year in the Life of Episcopal Service. Wednesday, February 26, 2014. A Open Letter To A Friend. I've been missing you terribly these last few months. It's strange not having you around to talk to face to face, or to grab a drink with, or just to hang out. I know I'm really terrible at keeping in touch and for that I greatly apologize. Sometimes it's hard to balance being present in my life here and making sure I'm keeping my relationships going back home. I've been here almost 7 months! I say...

Honduras: A Year in the Life of Episcopal Service: La Familia

http://www.claireharkey.blogspot.com/2013/12/la-familia.html

Honduras: A Year in the Life of Episcopal Service. Thursday, December 12, 2013. This is not my first holiday season away from my family. This will be my first Christmas away, but I've missed Thanksgiving before. It's always been hard, but what it's taught me is that family is really the same thing as community. And if you have a community, you have a family. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Simple template. Template images by gaffera.

Honduras: A Year in the Life of Episcopal Service. Sunday, May 5, 2013. I change my mind a lot. I've attended multiple colleges, followed several different career paths, moved around. just trying to figure it all out. Sometimes I struggle with this aspect of myself. Can I really commit to something? Or do I just move on when it gets too hard? And I think that's pretty awesome to be honest. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I change my mind a lot. An Endlessly Changing Horizon: Little Things

http://ashleyecameron.blogspot.com/2014/06/little-things_23.html

Be a Part of the Journey. Monday, June 23, 2014. I've been to just about every diocese within the Episcopal Church in the Philippines. There were just two left to check off. The first was the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Luzon which neighbors EDS. I had no excuse not to take the two hour trip to visit with Bishop Abibico, who was recently elected the next Prime Bishop of ECP. St Thomas' Parish, Tabuk where we attended mass}. Fell in love with these tattoos representing culture, beauty and rich tradition}.

An Endlessly Changing Horizon: Series

http://ashleyecameron.blogspot.com/p/series.html

Be a Part of the Journey. Being happy isn't having everything in your life be perfect. Maybe it's about stringing together all the little things like wearing these pants or getting to a new level of Dragon's Lair - making those count for more than the bad stuff. Maybe we just get through it. and that's all we can ask for.". YASC is a spiritual journey. There are many moments that cause me to pause and reflect on how this is experience is shaping my faith, perspectives, and me. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

An Endlessly Changing Horizon: A rainy, cool Baguio

http://ashleyecameron.blogspot.com/2013/09/a-rainy-cool-baguio.html

Be a Part of the Journey. Thursday, September 19, 2013. A rainy, cool Baguio. Known as “The Summer Capital of the Philippines,” Baguio sits up in the pine-clad mountains of the Codillera region. The nickname comes from the migration of people, even the president, to the city trying to escape the heat of the humid summer months in the rest of the Philippines. Unfortunately for me, it’s still the rainy season and it showed in Baguio last weekend. Driving through the mountains. My first impression of Baguio...

Be a Part of the Journey. Tuesday, October 15, 2013. I know last week I posted. About finding a home parish. Nonetheless while I was having coffee with Fr. D’Abugao after helping with preschool, he invited me to attend their Indigenous Sunday service that coming Sunday at St. Stephen’s. There was a promise of gongs and native dance. How could I refuse? I’m still fine tuning my movie-making skills, so no judgment. Here’s a little video montage to give you a feel what it was like to be at t...Subscribe to:...

An Endlessly Changing Horizon: Rained Out

http://ashleyecameron.blogspot.com/2013/08/rained-out.html

Be a Part of the Journey. Wednesday, August 28, 2013. On Sunday, Margaret, Andrew and I joined Floyd, the Provincial Secretary, and his family for breakfast before church. We then attended the 9am service at the National Cathedral, which was a typical Episcopal Service. They even sang similar hymns. Andrew walking with Floyd's son, Norlan. The top of the cathedral. To give you an idea, here is a map of where we went. Our cloudy view of the volcano. Part of our lunch spread. August 29, 2013 at 10:12 AM.

Be a Part of the Journey. Wednesday, June 18, 2014. And the Processing Center. The group at dinner on the first night/}. On the first night we took them out for dinner at a local restaurant. Then on their final night here we showed them how Filipinos do karaoke! Also, we surprised Andrew Joyce, who's overseeing and facilitating the trainings, with a birthday cake as his birthday was June 11. As a parting gift, we gave a custom polo shirt with a patch of the Foundation's logo. Happy Birthday to Andrew!

On My Way Home

On My Way Home. February 28, 2013. A painting i made recently for church. To represent st james, the one who walked all the way to Spain and is renowned for the Camino and for spreading the love of God throughout the area and then getting back to Jerusalem to lose his life for what he believed. Kinda a big deal, right. I've also been trying to imagine walking all that way with a dried gourd as a camelback. It's just a little hard to imagine. But dirty, used sandals, i can imagine that. Moving Landscapes

Saturday, 12 June 2010. Links to this post. Links to this post. Tuesday, 11 May 2010. When starting this project i thought it would be relatively easy doing something i enjoy and like doing. I thought that getting my images i need would be easy, but how i was so wrong. I have come up with the conclusion that with landscapes you either have to be their at the right place at the right time and placed or you sit for hours waiting for the right shot.
