Mrs B's Baking: May 2008
http://ickystickypudding.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 28 May 2008. I have to say these biscuits taste delightful! They melt in your mouth and once you have had one you will definitely want another. I think they would just be perfect for an afternoon tea party or picnic. The filling is vanilla buttercream with homemade (by my father-in-law) plum jam! They taste divine and are one of the nicest biscuits I think I have ever made. Every time I eat one I would have to have two or three. Monday, 19 May 2008. Perfect for an afternoon tea party! Sunday, 2 August 2015. I have a hankering for a bed of roses blanket. Four years ago, I made a couple of squares for it. And last month, I made another two:. So, now I have four in total! I also made this little goldfish, just for fun! If I didn't work in a hot-desk environment, where we are not allowed personal items on desks, I would totally have it in my office. I also have too many knitting plans for the Autumn term. 14 October 2015 at 02:04. This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.

dots or stripes: July 2015

Friday, 31 July 2015. I've recently been developing my embellishing skills, by completing some knitted projects that incorporated finishing steps of embroidery. These mittens included little embroidered flowers. They were very hard to get right, or at least, to get them to look the same on both mittens:. Here they are complete. The little flowers really add to the mittens, I think. This knitted bag required over 200 French knots, over 100 cross stitches and some duplicate stitches too. I really like it!

Thursday, 19 February 2015. Oddly productive month, so far. 1 Hogwarts express shawl - done to timeframe. Although it has to be said, I hate this shawl now I have finished it. I went right off the yarn during the knitting. 2 Soft lace edged hat - gift for friend starting chemotherapy. I'd rather not have made this one, really :( Hope she will be OK. I knitted it in the softest cashmere yarn I had in stash. Friday, 6 February 2015. I seem to have a case of startitis. 1 (cast on 1 Feb). 2 (also on 1 Feb).

Sunday, 18 January 2015. Another year older. I have finally found someone to make me a birthday cake, after my previous favoured baker moved away six years ago. This one is chocolate layer cake with salted caramel filling. My son gave me these:. Such a thoughtful boy. The little owl is a brooch made of broken tiles in a mosaic. Really lovely. Friday, 9 January 2015. I have finished a whole working week! Today is mostly about housework, laundry and a little bit of knitting. Onwards on the stashdown! Tomor...

Tuesday, 21 July 2015. I recently acquired this lovely cantilever sewing box. When I opened it, it was full of sewing supplies. My grandma used to work in textiles, and when I was a little girl, she used to make some of my clothes. There were a lot of cotton reels. I shan't have to buy any black, grey or navy thread for a while. I also brought home a lovely picture of my grandad in his workplace to cherish. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Trent Valley, UK. Sunday, 2 August 2015. Stashdown #7: July 2015. My yarn stash continued to reduce in July, and I'm now back in negative numbers again. Although to be honest, it's not as good as I hoped. I had planned to finish another pair of socks, but I haven't finished the first sock yet:. Well, I didn't buy any yarn. I finished 3 projects during July. 492 yards on a colourwork bag. 60 yards on two blanket squares. 20 yards on a crochet goldfish. CF from last month 147. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Sunday, 2 November 2014. A strange thing happened to me yesterday. I bought some fabric! Seriously, it has been months and months since I bought any fabric. I'm hardly sewing these days. But yesterday, dh and I drove into Derbyshire. We stopped in Crich for a late breakfast, and walked past a haberdashery shop called " Love Hector. I paused to look at the vintage sewing machine in the window, at which point, dh asked if I wanted to go in. Unwrapped, there is this:. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Craft stora...
