What we did after irene. What we thought wasn't much {or any} real damage when we woke up on sunday morning immediately changed when we walked just down the street to our corner and peeked around the block. a massive tree fell straight down and not only completely crushed on car, but managed to land on several cars one the other side of the street, too. I don't think i've ever seen a tree flatten a car like that. constitution and 5th ne quickly became a tourist trap for the remainder of the gorgeous.

With our never-ending heatwave this summer, all i can think dream about is fall and the new { and more fun. Outfit combinations i'll be able to put together. that's right, i'm talking about scarves! All the things i wouldn't dream of wearing this summer. i've been living in all of the same lightweight dresses with the same flip flop / wedge combination all summer. Tonight, kasi and i are flying overseas. it's a short trip (just about nine days), but it was all we could really take off from work right now. i don't think i could be more excited! On our second [and only full] day in paris, we decided to take in as much of the city as possible and walk from our apartment to the lourve and notre dame. it was raining on and off that day and freezing. Kasi and i are trying out a new ritual. coffee (or breakfast if time permits) together before work in the morning. it'll involve coordinating schedules, and majorly fighting the urge to hit the snooze button a million times in the morning. but i think it will be a nice new ritual and a welcomed change to our morning routine.
