A Chicken Runs Through It
http://cubefarmescape.com/2011/04/a-chicken-runs-through-it
A Chicken Runs Through It. Apr 13, 2011. There are three different ways to cross over-land into Thailand from Luang Prabang in Laos:. Option 1: The bus. Time=16 hours. Option 2: The slow boat. Time=2 days. Option 3: The fast boat. Time=7 hours. I opted for the fast boat, the exact opposite of what EVERY guide book tells you to do. Evidently it’s slightly dangerous and a few people have died. Psh! And then came the best part: we all received crash helmets and life jackets. This was the point I serious...

Oct 20, 2011. Flush with our pumpkins from the farm, we set out to carve! I haven’t carved out a pumpkin in years! First step, gutting them. This part is always my least favorite. It takes forever and you never seem to get it all. Just keep scraping away at the inside until you give up and more onto the more fun part. Blerg, pumpkin guts. After a tasty dinner of wings (take that Pierre! Sad part was, we forgot to get candles to light them! Emilys. Look at the crazy teeth! And mine, with lucky #3! I am re...

WARNING! Toilet Post
http://cubefarmescape.com/2011/04/warning-toilet-post
Apr 07, 2011. Seriously this is going to be a post about toilets and all their glory in asia. If you don’t want to read about that, now would be a good time to click on another post. Like straws. Straws are happy and not about toilets. Fair warning, read forward at your peril. Squattie toilets have no flushing mechanism. You use this:. A large tub filled with water and a scooper. To flush a squattie toilet, merely pour water down the drain until only clear water remains. It also serves the dual p...April...

The Saga of M&M Ends. Jul 19, 2011. After traveling through 4 countries, drinking countless beers and having a truly fantastic time, our little American trip parted ways. Matt and Merrit were off to save the world, or at least build a house for Habitat for Humanity while I was going to continue to be a lazy bum traveler. Go me! To commemorate our insane trip, here’s some of the best photos. Matt, the constant photographer, in his cute yamica. Always hungry for more. Showing off the Czech pour.

Chaos Comes to Chiang Mai
http://cubefarmescape.com/2011/04/chaos-comes-to-chiang-mai
Chaos Comes to Chiang Mai. Apr 16, 2011. I came to Thailand for two distinct reasons: to pet a tiger and for Songkran. Having conquered my tiger spooning agenda soon after arrival, I’ve been waiting for the Thai New Year’s Festival to start. And now that it has I’m not sure how to even begin explaining the insanity that has descended on this town. They were my favorite for wrecking havoc. Side note: water source. Not cool Thai peeps. There are a multitude of choices for completing your Songkran dominatio...

Oct 20, 2011. The Big Blue Bear wants some beer! Emily refilling the pitchers. The costumes people come in are always the best, squids! Best bachelorette party EVER. Or some vikings perhaps? Mom Miller was there, and I photo bombed. My absolutely rockin frog hat! And lastly, the other half of my brain. MEEP! GABF is the best beer party in the world, hand’s down. And a perfect example to show all the naysayers out there, that we do know how to brew a damn fine beer. 2 Responses to “Beer Fest Baby!

Dec 06, 2011. So since my fancy new job (yay job! Wasn’t going to start for a few weeks, mom suggested I take the swede to visit MO. And since I love BBQ and any excuse to eat it is fabulous, I said sure! We had to DRIVE THROUGH KANSAS. If you have never done this particular drive, you should be thankful. Cause it’s 9 whole hours of boredom. 9 hours of nothing but corn fields and cows. And it you go in the winter there’s not even corn fields! A Sweden/American dala horse. Posed with some gingerbread man!
