Monkeying Around: Tummy Time
http://monkinhos.blogspot.com/2015/06/tummy-time.html
Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Grrr I am trying so hard to figure out how to say this without comparing the kids but I can't find the words. Trace (the few hours he is awake) objects to spending time face down. The kids and I have tried all sorts of distractions. Maddox spells names, reads him papers, and sings to him. Natalya does puzzles and plays dolls by/with Trace. Trace is unconvinced this is a worthwhile endeavor and does the following within moments of being placed face down. Notable Trips with Stories.

Monkeying Around: Nov 4, 2012
http://monkinhos.blogspot.com/2012_11_04_archive.html
Sunday, November 4, 2012. We decided to get a taxi since it would be a more direct route to our hotel, but without a car seat all the taxis refused. We eventually found a shuttle that agreed to drop us off and Mike held a sleeping Maddox the entire ride to the hotel. Once we got to the hotel, Maddox woke up. We enjoyed some M&Ms in bed before we all crashed. It was the best Halloween ever. The main event for our long weekend in San Fran was Alcatraz Island. We set out from our hotel early enough to l...

Monkeying Around: Strawberries
http://monkinhos.blogspot.com/2015/05/strawberries.html
Friday, May 29, 2015. We heard rave reviews about the strawberries at Davis Farms so we headed out to the farm to pick strawberries. The lady at the counter mentioned that they didn't spray, so there would be weeds. I just nodded and figured there would be a few weeds and this was just something they said to rub in the fact that they don't spray. 8 pounds of strawberries. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Monkeying Around: "Toona-forn-ya"
http://monkinhos.blogspot.com/2013/08/toona-forn-ya_16.html
Friday, August 16, 2013. Windsor, CA – Olsen Family Reunion 2013. Friday morning came and we headed out of town at 11am. Not too shabby in my book since we didn’t get up until 8am seeing as how Maddox was so excited the night before to go to “Toona-forn-ya (California)” that he didn’t fall asleep until almost 10pm. 8221; “Grandma? 8221; “Grandpa? 8221; “Hotel? 8221; I am not sure if he thought I was holding out on him since he had had green and orange Cheerios (Apple Jacks) before. We climbed back into t...

Monkeying Around: Texas....again
http://monkinhos.blogspot.com/2013/08/texasagain.html
Sunday, August 25, 2013. Back to the trip. After the airplane ride (see California. Post), both kids crashed in the car. We met my brother and his wife at a BBQ joint and had a great meal. The stuffed baked potato was scrumptious. I have never had anything like it before. Natalya woke up in time to sit in a real high chair (the kind with padding and four legs, not our hard plastic one that straps to a chair) and have dinner. It looks like she is holding a cigar. and no I didn't teach her that. One day we...

Monkeying Around: Trace at 4 months
http://monkinhos.blogspot.com/2015/07/trace-at-4-months.html
Thursday, July 9, 2015. Trace at 4 months. He is working on holding his own bottle for our upcoming trip. Babies are so much happier in the car when they can feed themselves! I didn't think Trace was really interested in solids. One evening at dinner he dove for my peaches. The next night he licked pasta sauce off of noodles. I have slowly started offering applesauce, oatmeal, and other random things once a day (if I remember and the timing works out). 16lbs 4oz. 26 1/2inches. Notable Trips with Stories.

Monkeying Around: El Conquistador Resort - Farajdo
http://monkinhos.blogspot.com/2011/07/el-conquistador-resort-farajdo.html
Sunday, July 24, 2011. El Conquistador Resort - Farajdo. Mike looked at the gap between posts and exclaimed, "What! It looks like we didn't do anything in the week and a half between Maddox coming home and leaving for Puerto Rico! Mike and I had the following discussion several times before we left. It went something like this:. Mike (or Kristen depending on who started the conversation): "Are we crazy for taking Maddox on this trip to Puerto Rico? Kristen (or Mike): Yes. Labels: Vacation - Puerto Rico.

Monkeying Around: May 13, 2012
http://monkinhos.blogspot.com/2012_05_13_archive.html
Sunday, May 13, 2012. Mike finally broke down and allowed me to use HIS frequent flier miles and book a non-work related vacation for the two of us to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary. The subsequent moaning that ensued from my husband about the week that HE picked for this vacation and my nagging about his limited internet/email time was priceless. We re-energized with more sleep and relaxation than any other trip we've taken. It was well worth it. The largest canyon in the Pacific, Waimea Canyo...

Monkeying Around: Mar 2, 2012
http://monkinhos.blogspot.com/2012_03_02_archive.html
Friday, March 2, 2012. Japan - Part I. I had some business to take care of in the Men's room and was pleasantly surprised to sit on the toilet seat and find that it was heated (very common in Japan, although a lot of public toilets have discontinued the practice to conserve energy). The control panel for the toilet was much more complex than what I was used to, but fortunately, there were instructions:. Also, there were squatters for those who prefer a more traditional approach to waste removal. The conf...
