To find out more. Young People's Film Project. Young film makers worked with Bill Lazario a film director and other film professionals to make a short film based on the themes of Claras Story and Ashburton's rich and diverse history. It was was scripted filmed and directed by the children involved. The completed film was shown in Ashburton in June 2009 and was also shown at Portobello Film Festival, London in September 2009. Ashburton's unique history is believed to have begun in Saxon times although little is known about this period.
