Back in 2009 an Adult summer Football League was initiated; thereâ s also a lake park where you can go duck hunting, fishing and boating, or just for jogging and walking. There are also picnic areas, shelters and several playgrounds, so you can have fun at the same time with your children. The lake park was created in 1929. Before that here was just farm land. History of Andersonville Cottage. Marvin and Ada Anderson moved from Broken Arrow, OK to Claremore to open the Anderson Machine Works. They purchased ten acres of land and the cottage from Hilda Miller in 1945. The natural stone cottage was originally built in 1925 with only three rooms, no interior bathroom and no running water. This room is a great place for the men to relax and watch a movie while their wives go antiquing. It has a comfy couch, recliner, and a library of DVDs and VHS tapes with many lighthearted movies from which to choose. The dining room is furnished with period antiques, yet the table and chairs are sturdy and welcome a hearty breakfast, or a game of bridge. The full laundry room leads out onto a covered porch.
