There is a joke about two clarinet players meeting each other for the first time, and instead of asking "how are you" or "what is your name", they ask "what kind of mouthpiece do you play? And a good mouthpiece can be found without stressing the parents' wallet. When I read the following words by renowned clarinetist and mouthpiece maker Mike Lomax. Subscribe to:...

Assorted gems, rants, opinions, and facts about all things related to the clarinet. Friday, February 13, 2009. We clarinetists know how frustrating it is to play a long lyrical passage from the Debussy Rhapsody with a clarion Bb that sounds like you became the world’s flutter tongue expert. The dreaded water in side keys! If we take a moment to look at what is really happening, we see that water will condense in the bore of the clarinet. We cannot prevent it. One Year of Homeschooling. Can I account for all 180 days of homeschooling? Can I account for all 180 required days of homeschooling? You bet I can, and then some. Monday, November 29, 2010. I haven't written for a while. The cause would be Thanksgiving, which was nice but busy. The only thing I can think of that I could have written about was yesterday. We came home from church, and I announced that we were going to work outside. I heard a chorus of "Nooo! What's the matter with you? Now, on to Monday:.

I had downloaded some MP3s from the Institute for Excellence in Writing. Tonight, the kids went to the web site Hooda Math.

I was pondering what to write about for the last post for One Year of Homeschooling. In the past week or so we've done things worth posting about. We went on a hike to Table Rock on Father's Day and saw a Black snake winding his way on the side of a rock. We had a truly nice time with perfect weather and even tempers.

Day 129, 130, 131, 132, 133 (Yikes! Monday was snowy yet again, but only resulted in a short delay in our getting to orchestra. One Year of Homeschooling. Can I account for all 180 days of homeschooling? Can I account for all 180 required days of homeschooling? You bet I can, and then some. Tuesday, December 28, 2010. The main reason I'm posting today is that I was prompted by my husband who e-mailed me a list of the books we have out of the library:. Belles on their Toes. The Return of Meteor Boy?

Physicals for the kids today and general errands. Got Emily's bloodwork done. She's a real trooper about it and the lab we go to now is really fast, which is wonderful. I don't think she'd be more anxious about it having to wait, just bored. They are completely unconcerned, and would likely not do anything.

Clarinet-Cello, by Bent Hannover
The music suite "Seasons" consists of fifteen movements for violin, clarinet, cello and piano. Furthermore a cello solo: Part 8: Indian Summer II B. Each of the six instrumental parts is printed in separate parts: "Violin 1", "Violin 2", "Clarinet 1", "Clarinet 2", "Cello" and "Piano". The movements were composed over ten years for two violins, two Bb-clarinets, cello and piano, because my quartet was short of printed music for that particular instrumentation. Bent Hannover - Copenhagen, August 2007.
