Here are a number of frequently asked questions that we get. Q: Did Clarissa get type 1 diabetes because of her diet? A: No Type 1 diabetes is an auto-immune disease. The causes are not fully understood, but there is no evidence to suggest that type 1 diabetes is related to diet or exercise. There is nothing that could have been done to prevent Clarissa from getting diabetes or to delay the onset of the disease. Q: Can you fix Clarissa's type 1 diabetes by adjusting her diet?
