http://solodungeoneer.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 7, 2013. Pathfinder Adventure Card Game - Adding ROLE Playing to the ROLL Playing. As you can tell I don't update much these days :). Anyway this is not a review. For more info and play examples check out this video:. Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? I would recommend watching the video to get a brief overview of the game so that what I say below will make more sense to you. I got some inspiration from some RPGs like Dungeon World and Old School Hack. Check them out at RPGgeek. Lets imag...

Tales of the Rambling Bumblers. August 6, 2015. So, my Monday group has been talking a bit about a post by Ken. On running a low-magic, restricted race and class (Human only, Fighter and Thief only) setting. A bunch of my thoughts on “low magic” and what feels magical have appeared on my blog (e.g. Niven’s Law. But I want to offer some further comments. Whether something counts as wonderful or prosaic is entirely based on the players’. Experiences, not the typical inhabitants of the setting. A peasan...

Solo Dungeoneer: Neverwinter Nights and a Giveaway
http://solodungeoneer.blogspot.com/2013/12/neverwinter-nights-and-giveaway.html
Saturday, December 14, 2013. Neverwinter Nights and a Giveaway. As I became familiar with NWN, I soon realized what an amazing game it is. The original NWN was shipped with a 50 hour campaign that was generally regarded as fairly lackluster by most people. But I think its a mistake to judge it by the original campaign because it more a TOOL rather than a game in the same vein as Baldurs Gate. So what makes NWN awesome? NWN captures the feel of tabletop RPGs better than any other CRPG I have played. Keep ...

Solitaire Song of Blades and Heroes | oMAD
https://dogui.wordpress.com/2010/10/21/solitaire-song-of-blades-and-heroes
How to use oMAD. The obsessive Miniature Artist Disorder. October 21, 2010. Solitaire Song of Blades and Heroes. Posted by Dogui under article. You probably know I am a solitaire gamer. Even though it was started out of necessity, it is something I’ve learned to enjoy very much. It’s my private playground, and probably 70% of my painted figures have only been used in solo games. Song of Blades and Heroes is a pretty amazing little game for skirmish gaming from Ganesha Games. I must now give credit where ...

Solo Dungeoneer: March 2012
http://solodungeoneer.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 27, 2012. OSH with the Solo Deck Part 1 - Creating a Hook, and New Location Mechanic. I apologize for the delay in posting. I've been promising that this would be coming soon but unfortunately how my life is right now 'soon' is longer than I would like it to be. I've finished up some projects I've been working on so my schedule is freeing up a bit more so hopefully I can start knocking out some posts on a semi-regular base for a little while. There are several reasons I decided to use this:.

Solo Dungeoneer: April 2012
http://solodungeoneer.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 23, 2012. I stumbled across a link from the Story Games Forums and it reminded me to trust my initial impulse of a simple rules lite, play quickly/don't over think it style of solo play. Http:/ games.groups.yahoo.com/group/fanmadefurpg/message/197. FU seems to play quickly and prompts a good active narrative. Here's a link for FU rules:. Http:/ www.rpgnow.com/product info.php? 6 - yes, and. 4 - yes, but. 3 - no, but. 1 - no, and. Mythic GM is a great concept but I find that whenever I use i...

Solo Dungeoneer: Conclave Kickstarter
http://solodungeoneer.blogspot.com/2012/09/conclave-kickstarter.html
Saturday, September 22, 2012. I've been playing Pocket Heroes. On the Iphone for the past month. While initially I liked this game, my friend and I have overall been quite disappointed. I love the idea of asynchronous play in a RPG (great for busy schedules like mine) but having played for a month I'm honestly bored with the game. It's a total grind fest. This is the asynchronous rpg game. And still has to 30% funding required. You can actually play the game here: http:/ playconclave.com. Which way to go?

Solo Dungeoneer: January 2012
http://solodungeoneer.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 18, 2012. Random Thoughts About GM-less Play. But is it practical to just wing it? This could be better:. A) toss some "story" tiles in there where where some kind of event connected with the plot occurs to build dramatic tension or create difficulty for the characters. By appropriately placing story tiles you could create some sort of narrative arc. Recently, I stumbled across the adventure funnel: a brilliant simple adventure design template. 1) Come up with an adventure hook. 4) Ver...
