Life on the Ranch. Monday, September 30, 2013. This was our "yard" this spring. I've always wanted a good yard for my kids to play in because I had a great one growing up and made many memories playing in our yard. So Chaney did most of the work preparing the ground and planting seed and watering.although Maubry and I did water several times and I usually pulled the weeds.joe also helped water and Mac mowed a lot. Life on the Ranch. Friday, April 27, 2012. Just a little brandin' and rain. A couple days ago the ranch branded a few of the calves.there was about 50 of them this time. I've been to many brandings throughout my lifetime, none in Montana, but I've never been to one quite like this. Some of these calves were about the size of some the men. But they got them all done and there were no big wrecks or anything. Just a few bumps and bruises and some very hungry tired men! Today finally rained, so far ALL day!
