May 10, 2015. David Hayes, 2015. A recent Be Still 52 prompt was "cuppa". My first thought was.hmmm.maybe it's time that I join the club and post an image of one of those fancy coffee drinks. Or maybe a trashed Starbucks cup filled with cigarette butts. Something like that. Instead I went the traditional route.it's good to practice with what works. March 16, 2015. David Hayes, 2015. After the success I had with my "Lightbulb" series, I thought I'd give a go at recreating the series using jumbo ice cubes. After giving a look at my raw images after that shoot, I decided that they just didn't work. For all sorts of reasons. I'll try again some other time.in the meantime I thought I'd share a couple of the images that did work. Like Cubed. Which I shot with my iphone6 and processed using the app, "Stackables". Only lone word . GORGEOUS!

May 21, 2015. David Hayes, 2015. I don't know what it is as of late.I seem to get further behind on my projects than ahead! Maybe it's because I keep adding new ones? In any case.I'm just finishing up last week's Be Still 52 prompts! David Hayes, 2015. For this one I added a piece of fabric, her pinking shears, and measuring tape. Again, shot with my Nikon and processed in Lightroom. While I think this is a better "portrait" of her as it has both fabric and yarn, "Postcard" is my favorite.

Sunday, February 28, 2016. Links to this post. Friday, February 5, 2016. So, I decided to scrape some white across parts of the piece. I put some plastic wrap over that and let it dry overnight. This is the result:. I filled in some of the shapes left by the plastic wrap and I do like this part of the piece. It reminds me of mysterious ancient writing:. Next I mixed titanium white and ultramarine blue, and scraped them over other areas. Now It's becoming more interesting. Links to this post.
