July 26, 2010. List of things I want from Canada. Half of these things would probably happen if it weren’t for the CRTC. Ass-bags. A viable cellular provider other than Bell, Rogers, Telus (i.e. actual competition). ESPN, HBO (not HBO Canada), FX, Showtime, Comedy Network, Adult Swim. Better long distance and roaming rates between US and Canada. Netflix (the rumor is that it’s coming). The ability to launch a business in any province, in any language. Less hassle going through US customs.

March 18, 2014. SXSW 2014: Top Acts. My 5th SXSW and perhaps last for a while (although I’ve said that the last 3 years, only to get a last minute ticket). For the music portion, I once again got a chance to experience some great music and learn about a lot of new bands. Here are my top acts from this year:. St Vincent - didn’t really think much of her beforehand, but wow. Snoop Dogg - met all expectations - great entertainer. Quilt - 1st of two psychedelic bands I really wanted to see did not disappoint.
