Wonder Years: Emerging Imagination
http://ouryearsofwonder.blogspot.com/2014/02/emerging-imagination.html
Feb 9, 2014. Words are flowing. Every day more words are learned! I love being able to understand you and to hear your thoughts. But I will miss the baby voice so much. I weaned you two months ago and my heart has been aching a little ever since. Just a dull ache. I am so happy for the things you are learning, but this is me, wanting to hang on to the baby a little longer. But because it is late and I'm feeling emotional,. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wonder Years: Pilgrimage
http://ouryearsofwonder.blogspot.com/2009/07/pilgrimage.html
Jul 29, 2009. I really like driving through wide open spaces. Everyone should go on a road trip every once in a while. It forces you to think. Especially if you are smack dab in the middle of no where. All the emptiness becomes a wonderland as you ponder your life. Thoughts and memories come swirling around you and nobody can stop them but you. (OR your four kids, if you happen to be traveling with them. :). There were a few blessed stretches on the journey when I looked back and saw this:. The paradox f...

Wonder Years: Ants, not Aunts.
http://ouryearsofwonder.blogspot.com/2008/02/ants-not-aunts.html
Feb 16, 2008. Ants, not Aunts. I have a complicated history with ants. When I was young, I was very afraid of them. I had this recurring nightmare of ants crawling all over my body. Once, while visiting my Grandparents in Arizona we went to a park that had millions of ants swarming all over the ground. It was a hot day and they were everywhere. I was wearing sandals and refused. To go to the playground. I don't remember what I did, but I did not. Go onto that ant infested ground with my exposed toes.

Wonder Years: Seasons
http://ouryearsofwonder.blogspot.com/2008/10/seasons.html
Oct 7, 2008. It is remarkable to me, when I stop to think about the mechanics this world, how much is hinged upon seemly small numbers. Decreasing the amount of daylight we receive in this hemisphere by only a few hours drastically effects its ecology and climate. This decrease occurs because of the 23.5 degree tilt in the Earth's axis. The change is usually incremental and sometimes happens before we even know it! Especially if we confine ourselves to our climate-controlled buildings all day. It is that...

Wonder Years: Keeping it real.
http://ouryearsofwonder.blogspot.com/2013/08/keeping-it-real.html
Aug 28, 2013. We tried really hard to take nice back to school pictures. I had a fantastic post planned all about the joys of motherhood and how bright and brilliant my children are. And there is joy. And they are brilliant. But I guess there is also reality. And this is how it goes:. Ike fell and hit his head on the corner of the wall coming in. :( Swelled up big for the night, but then by morning the swelling was gone. Poor guy.). So the question is:. What is the best way to handle these little hiccups?

Wonder Years: In the thick of it.
http://ouryearsofwonder.blogspot.com/2013/03/in-thick-of-it.html
Mar 13, 2013. In the thick of it. Except for the dishwasher running. The children are asleep. Jeremy is working late. I love my hard working guy. But I miss him. Jeremy left his cell phone at home this morning. So I went to his new work place to deliver it. He's teaching a class at BYU tonight, you see. I couldn't have him driving all the way down to BYU tonight and back super late in a car that could explode any minute, without his cell phone. Ike and I drove into the city and parked. Everyone there see...

Wonder Years: Thoughts brought on by an old grasshopper
http://ouryearsofwonder.blogspot.com/2013/11/thoughts-brought-on-by-old-grasshopper.html
Nov 7, 2013. Thoughts brought on by an old grasshopper. I saw a feeble grasshopper yesterday. I wouldn't have seen it if it hadn't been for my almost two-year-old. He was at first startled by it. It hopped right in front of him on the side walk after all. That's a little startling! But then he bent down and watched it carefully. For about two minutes. Which is a long time in two-year-old land. And so a crock-pot full of Buddy Beans was cooling in the wagon and I had no time for an old grasshopper. But st...

Wonder Years: Dear Youngest Daughter
http://ouryearsofwonder.blogspot.com/2013/11/dear-youngest-daughter.html
Nov 13, 2013. So loving and so much loved. I am in awe of your giant soul. You see things that I can not. You long for affection and when you have it. You radiate that affection to others. Oh my littlest daughter. I will hold you to my heart forever. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Wisdom begins in wonder. Wonder Years: February Lovin'
http://ouryearsofwonder.blogspot.com/2013/03/february-lovin.html
Mar 6, 2013. It is the 6th of March. It's warmer. It's lighter in the morning. I've planted some seeds in homemade greenhouses made out of old milk jugs. The air is clearer. Being outside keeps me sane. Here is what we did LAST month, the sane and insane. We celebrated another birthday:. He hasn't changed much since the day I met him, more than 16 years ago. Sigh.I'm still so very crazy about him. It was Valentine's day. Which being interpreted means, chocolate and candy day. So now she knows. She had lo...

Wonder Years: The End and The Beginning
http://ouryearsofwonder.blogspot.com/2013/08/the-end-and-beginning.html
Aug 11, 2013. The End and The Beginning. Elise is twelve. She will be in two days. Oh me oh my. I love that every Sunday since she was three, she was taught by wonderful people the principles of the gospel. She sang, she read scriptures, she played games, she laughed, she felt the spirit,. I am thankful for Primary. Today was Elise's last Sunday in Primary. She recited the Thirteenth Article of Faith. And then gave a talk. These are her honest, almost-twelve-year-old thoughts:. This doesn't mean that if ...
