Life on the Edge. A Leap of Faith. April 21, 2012. Rock climbing is, at its core, a challenge. Unlike other sports, the challenge lies not with besting the other team but with conquering both nature and oneself. Overcoming the physical, mental and emotional obstacles that rock climbing presents can create a bond between climbers which goes beyond the wall. Why Are We Climbing? Mt Shasta July 14-17, 2011. Dear Friends and Family,. Thank you for visiting our Climbing for Kids. This July, we will be climbing Mount Shasta, a 4,322-meter (14,179-foot) volcano in the Cascade Range. Over three days, we’ll carry everything need need on our backs as we attempt to summit one of the highest peaks in California.
