The countryside surrounding us offers walks for all levels of ability and lasting from a few minutes to a few days. A multi-day route which tours right around our valley. Further afield the Pic des Trois Seigneurs and the 3000m summits of Montcalm and Pic d'Estats provide excellent challenging walks.

It was a super summer for cycling here at climb09, and 2010 brings a celebration of cycling in the region with the 100th anniversary of the first ever Tour de France stages in the Pyrénées. The Tour will feature no less than 6 stages in the Pyrénées with the famous Col du Tourmalet being climbed twice, once from each side! Each year we have our local race, the popular Ariegeoise. Followed by the famous Etape du Tour.

Through the finish in 9 hours 30 minutes and 24 seconds of riding. I was 5901st through the finish, but actually 5882nd on actual riding. Another 277 riders came through after I did and of the approx. 7500 who started, about 1300 must have dropped out. Not plain sailing though! Luckily I seem to suit climbing (or all the training round here on the cols has worked)...

Welcome to the NØOK dot com website. I've been a "Ham" since July of 1965 when I received the callsign of WNØPDA. I became a Technician Class operator a year later with the callsign of WAØPDA. Over the years I upgraded to the ranks of General, Advanced and finally obtained the Extra Class license in 1994. When the vanity callsigns became available I chose the callsign of NØOK. Latitude - 45.69365 degrees North. Longitude - 93.598766 degrees West. Elevation - 1100 feet above sea level.
