If you're not familiar with that, it's just cutting a hole in a piece of bread you're frying in butter, and then frying an egg within the hole- so it looks like a bulls eye. I decided to try that with my pancakes. Hey! To make it somewhat healthier, I added melon as a side. Voila! A semi-healthy breakfast and a way to finish up my leftover pancakes. Saturday, December 11, 2010. Since it is also the season for baking, I thought I'd share my favorite treat. Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cakes by Paula Deen. It is hands-down my favorite recipe for anything resembling pumpkin pie! In fact, I'm betting if you try this recipe you'll make this cake before making a pie for Thanksgiving next year. It's almost in-between a cake and a pie. I can't control myself around it! If you're looking for something healthy, I recommend green smoothies. One Passion One Devotion.

Wednesday, August 4, 2010. I just have to laugh. Now we're not doing ABeka for the curriculum. Good thing I hadn't notified the school district yet of our plans. On closer inspection of their letter I didn't have to have the notification forms in by August 1st- they just would have liked them in by then. Sounds more like it. I know most of my homeschooling friends don't notify them until at least the end of August. Daniel now says "dog", "dad", "mom", "wow", "watch", "go" and signs "all done" and "no".
