It is Lent, Again. | Clothed in Crimson
https://clothedincrimson.wordpress.com/2014/03/04/it-is-lent-again
Knitting and Thinking and Loving my Family and Stuff. It is Lent, Again. And I’ve been thinking, again, about the practice of fasting, and of “giving something up”s identical cousin “taking something on”. And what value they are intended to bring into my life, besides the extra guilt that comes of being hungry, or tired, or absent-minded. 8221; But rather “what would I rather fill my life with than this”. Because I’m not tired? After a really long day I really want a …. Those are the things I want to thi...

Knitting and Thinking and Loving my Family and Stuff. Fire and Water – A Story By and For a Girl and Her Mom. Once upon a time there was a girl. Not just any girl, a very special girl. You wouldn’t know it to look at her, because on the outside she looked like an ordinary girl. But on the inside, she was made of fire. And her name was Flame. Sometimes it was very hard to Flame to be a part of this family. She loved her father and her mother and her sister. But sometimes, even though they loved ea...Cryst...

Knitting and Thinking and Loving my Family and Stuff. Bread and Fish for Breakfast. A sermon for the 3rd Sunday of Easter. Warning: contains nudity. Earlier this week, the worship committee made the decision to observe four special days in the Church calendar this year- two of them coming up in the next few weeks. The feast days for all four of our patron saints, here in the Church of the Evangelists- the Feasts of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. And although we are in the year of Luke, and we’ll be...

Knitting and Thinking and Loving my Family and Stuff. In God’s Hands. A sermon for the 4th Sunday of Easter / Earth Sunday. May the words of my lips and the meditations of all our hearts be now and always acceptable in your sight, O Lord, our strength, and our redeemer. Amen. I don’t know if this game has a name. But there is a fair amount of laughter as her hands slip out of my grip. Sometimes she lets me catch her. Sometimes I let her catch me. And what a week to hear that promise. The Father and I are...

Dreamy Prune Whip: on being bi
http://prunewhip.blogspot.com/2011/02/on-being-bi.html
Doctoring, diapering, dithering about. Monday, February 21, 2011. Posts that have been fermenting for a while. 2 Still a resident. 3 The kids are still cute. Last fall, I was back in my former large city, ingratiating myself with the powers that be at the job I really wanted the mostest, and trying to psych myself into writing an application for said job. But it isn't always easy, and once I am two (or more) things I can never go back to a simple belonging. Of knowing my place with confidence. So, in a f...

Clothed in Crimson | Knitting and Thinking and Loving my Family and Stuff
Knitting and Thinking and Loving my Family and Stuff. May 29, 2017 - Leave a Response. It’s been 3 months now since I was diagnosed with Diabetes. My kid tells me it takes 30 days to form a new habit. Some other article says anywhere from 2 to 8 months. So here I am somewhere in the middle. I hope it’s safe to think of some of the elements of my new life as habitual, on their way to becoming ingrained. About weight loss. “Congratulations, you’re doing great! It is Lent, Again. And I’ve been thinkin...

Clothed in Fine Linen. June 23, 2014. Without getting too scientific, I have to tell you that sodium bicarbonate, better known to most as plain ol’ baking soda, holds some seriously intense beauty benefits. Baking soda is alkaline or basic (versus acidic) in most forms and therefore is great for neutralizing pH on just about any surface, including skin! Rejoice for soft, glowing skin! This entry was posted in Beauty. And tagged baking soda. Just Go with the Blow…Out, that is. June 16, 2014. June 13, 2014.
