Robert and Nicholas Abdey, executors of the will of their father Anthony Abdey came to the company paying 100 to be distributed to 25 poor men and women. [5]. No freedom details, but described as an alderman. 100 to be distributed to the known poor of the Company. [7]. William Arm er [Armorer? Alderman, Broad Street Ward, 1661.

London’s Livery Companies had their origins in the medieval craft and merchant guilds that can be traced back to the twelfth century. These guilds, common throughout Europe since medieval times, were often used to regulate particular industries. [1]. These Livery Companies evolved from the very basic need for some form of organisation and regulation between crafts people regarding craftsmanship and standards. [3].
