Thursday, February 13, 2014. Love, love and more love! I work as a roaming Art Teacher for grades 1-3 in Ben Tzvi in Afula once a week. I have 2 classes of each grade and 143 pupils all in all! And teach them ALL in 1 day! It’s definitely quite a challenge, but ever so rewarding! And I love it! With my love of bold colours, and collage I thought it would be fantastic to make a “quilt” of hearts with all my students, each class one of their own. I was blown away at the amazing success of the results!

The kids loved the story! We painted a nice big paper with bright blue (I thought it would go nicely with the orange of the tiger) and then came back to the table. I had prepared them the body parts of our tiger on newspaper. (I really love the texture of the newspaper shining through! What absolutely fantastic results!

This time we used bowls for our shapes, covered with Vaseline .I like to use good old fashioned newspaper and flour.But next time I will try glad-wrap instead of Vaseline! We used acrylics to decorate and I varnished afterwards to give a sheen and protect them. I am delighted with these wonderful treasures! Paper-Mache bowls with Tal Menashe.
