Not Ashamed: June 2007
http://monettmusings.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
Reflections on glimpses of God's Glory. Wednesday, June 6, 2007. My first blog entry! My main purpose is really just to check this out and see if it is a good fit for a work-related project, but the byproduct of that is that I get to post all those random happenings and the thoughts that ramble around in my head for all to read, instead of just subjecting a few close friends to my delightful insights. We need to be reminded too, sometimes. We forget how good our God is, we forget how much He loves us.

Not Ashamed: Potato Salad Worship
http://monettmusings.blogspot.com/2010/04/potato-salad-worship.html
Reflections on glimpses of God's Glory. Sunday, April 18, 2010. My dad was also an inordinately calm, gentle man. I don't recall ever hearing him yell, at anyone.and this was a man with FIVE children! Mom yelled enough to make up the difference, so we did get our fair share of parental outrage. Dad did, however, have a bit of a passive-aggressive streak in him. Perhaps more than a bit, sometimes. Dad's response: "Oh, that's what's left of the potato salad, after I took out everything you all didn't want&...

Reflections on glimpses of God's Glory. Thursday, October 21, 2010. Searching for Things I Don't Really Want to Find. I've been reading a book called. How to Develop a Powerful Prayer Life. By Dr Gregory Frizzell, and while reading about types of prayer yesterday, I was particularly struck by what he said about confession in prayer. Confession is definitely not. A topic we like to talk about- I don't know about you, but I have a tendency to want to. But, how exactly do we go about "confessing our sins?

Not Ashamed: September 2007
http://monettmusings.blogspot.com/2007_09_01_archive.html
Reflections on glimpses of God's Glory. Saturday, September 29, 2007. Disclaimer- I know so little about how to do construction, it's scary. I can't dig a foundation, and even if I could, I would have NO idea where to go from there. So, if you're a builder, a contractor, or just plain smarter than me, just try to ignore it if I say something that displays my ignorance of all things construction. Give their volunteers the necessary tools and supplies. Send the volunteers off to work. FOREVER.and then ...

Reflections on glimpses of God's Glory. Monday, January 14, 2008. Finding Joy, Part 2. In the last post, I talked about finding joy.or rather, about choosing. Joy- we can't really find joy, it finds us. In the very person of Christ, when we come to Him in faith. But every day, we can decide whether we are going to take hold of the joy He offers, or whether we are going to continue to cling to our problems, our negative attitudes, our fears and our insecurities. 2 Think about what you think. For me, negat...

Reflections on glimpses of God's Glory. Monday, January 19, 2009. Which Version Am I? I never really intended to just abandon my blogging post, but you go a few days without writing, then a couple of weeks, and next thing you know, it's months later.and no posts. Well, I guess it's time to start trying to fix that. A couple of weeks ago during the children's story, our pastor handed out little bibles to all the kids. After church, I was talking to a friend when her son came over, holding his new bible.

Not Ashamed: A Matter of Focus
http://monettmusings.blogspot.com/2008/03/matter-of-focus.html
Reflections on glimpses of God's Glory. Thursday, March 27, 2008. A Matter of Focus. This past Sunday, Easter Sunday, my pastor asked me to give a testimony about how God's resurrection power had changed my life. I was saved at the age of 30, when, after falling to the bottom of a pit of hopelessness, I was rescued by the love and grace of Jesus. Perhaps at some point, I'll put my testimony here, but that's not the point of this post. Those who know me know I can't even start. I've had a lot of struggles...

Not Ashamed: October 2007

Reflections on glimpses of God's Glory. Wednesday, October 3, 2007. Don't you just love to look at pictures of children? Even when they're messy and dirty and causing mischief, they're just so cute! I have a picture of my youngest when he was about 2 years old, sitting on the floor, with his face almost entirely covered by ketchup from the hot dog he'd just eaten! Now, pictures of ME? As I looked at this picture the other day, I thought about how a picture of a child just makes you want to hug them, and ...
