We left the misty mountains on our overnight bus on friday, spent a day in hot sticky delhi, joined another overnight train and arrived in the southern Rjasthani city of Udaipur on a warm Sunday morning. We stayed at the aptly (and modestly) named Dream Heaven on the lakeside. What a wee gem of a place! The rooms were painted in traditional rajasthani style and the rooftop restaurant had these amazing wee cushiony cosy dookets for, piled high with cushions and perfect for watching the sunset over the city.

We arrived in Varanasi 12 hours later, relatively rested and ready to do battle with the touts.
