The Abandoned: Flattened
http://theabandonedlec.blogspot.com/2015/07/flattened.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2015. The Abandoned is no longer. These rolling hills are a preview of what is to come. Soon houses and buildings will grace the place, where mystery once ruled. However, one can find dinosaur foot prints every now and then. Who knows what interesting wildlife lurks in the forests of my childhood, which still stand in their pristine beauty. The Abandoned: April 2015

Sunday, April 12, 2015. Walking the Forests of my Childhood. In the canyons which surround what once was The Abandoned. One can find among the old fragrant cedar trees, these giant oaks. They have been alive for hundreds of years. Once my sister and I saw a mountain lion sleeping in the branches about three stories up. These trees are home to all kinds of wildlife. I love them. These big old Oak trees remind me of dear wrinkled grandfathers. I like to hug them. Have a lovely day, dear Friends. In the sum...

The Abandoned: November 2013

Saturday, November 30, 2013. Remembering the Artists of The Abandoned. Is now a pile of rubble, I am still in awe of the incredible art once found there. These are only a few of the pictures I've taken over the years. A big thank you to the Artists of The Abandoned. From the walls of the swimming pool. From one of the back rooms. From the main auditorium. From the end of the swimming pool itself. Ice Cube Baby is one of my favorites, found in a back room. Found along a downstairs hallway. Subscribe to: P...

Thursday, December 19, 2013. Sparkle Dewdrop Heart -Guest Heart Thursday. I took this picture on one of my walks through The Abandoned with my darling Sister a few summers ago. The sparkle at the bottom of the heart seemed magical to me. When I found it again just now- the magic of that place still has power. The Abandoned: January 2014

Thursday, January 9, 2014. Basement Graffiti Heart -Guest Heart Thursday. I had forgotten about this odd set of pictures on the wall in the basement area of the now destroyed main building. What a canvas! One could find just about anything on those distressed walls. Some graffiti was beautiful. This is not beautiful, but it is surely interesting to the eyes. Happy Guest Heart Thursday! The Abandoned: Lichen This Heart -Guest Heart Thursday
http://theabandonedlec.blogspot.com/2014/05/lichen-this-heart-guest-heart-thursday.html
Thursday, May 8, 2014. Lichen This Heart -Guest Heart Thursday. How amazing to find such exquisite detail in such a tiny bit of lichen. This heart is smaller than a pencil eraser! I like the contrast of limb, moss and lichen. The heart is perfect for Guest Heart Thursday! For more heart art, photography and altogether fabulous heart stuff from around the world, visit Clytie at Random Hearts for Guest Heart Thursday. I never would have thought this was so small - its gorgeous! May 8, 2014 at 2:03 PM.

The Abandoned: April 2014

Tuesday, April 22, 2014. This is a photo of pitch, or sap flowing over the bark of a fir tree. This is the fir tree's way of healing itself. The results can be quite beautiful. What I liked about this one, is the green reflection of the forest that is caught in the golden droplets. It is quite lovely. There are two hearts to be found in th is picture- one is VERY tiny! Monday, April 21, 2014. Crackle Mud Heart -Guest Heart Thursday. It still seems magical to me. Especially the forests which still sur...
