Atticus trys to view life through all the eyes of Maycomb. When Jem is punished for chopping off the camellia buds grown by Mrs Dubouse, Atticus makes Jem read to Mrs Dubouse (who is sick) to try to tech him a lesson on how she feels about the situation. On: August 13, 2010. For the rest of this term we are reading the book ‘To Kill A Mocking Bird’ by Harper Lee. This book is about racism, and how people treated ‘black’ people back in the 1930 in the south of America. In the book everyone is accusing this ‘black’ man of raping a girl.
