The CMR shop has over two thousand square feet of space. The main model shop is a large, spacious area with a fully equipped wood working shop, electronics and modeling facilities. CMR has a 24 x 48 laser cutter. This enables us to cut specialty parts for custom structures as well as cut all the parts for our model kits. CMR has years of experience drawing and designing parts for buildings. If a special building is needed, we can design, cut and assemble it.

Custom Model Railroads (CMR) is a Baltimore-based business. It was founded in 1991 by Jeff Springer. It is located in the old Noxema factory in Hampden. Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Museum HO layout. CMR designed and built a new model railroad for the B&O Railroad Museum. The construction of the layout was a major part of the rebuilding process at the museum following the 2003 roof collapse of the roundhouse. HO scale Southern Railway layout. CMR is building a 8' x 12' HO scale Southern Railway with a 3' x 12' staging yard. P&LE Beaver Bridge in HO. CMR built a HO scale model of the P&LE Beaver Bridge. The bridge is 80" long.
