Because of this they’ve re-recorded some of they’re songs and released them for digital download. The Tabla (Kind of). The Tabla (Kind of). August 20, 2014. August 20, 2014. The Tabla is a percussion instrument that originated in India. The Tabla is a hand drum and it’s played with a ton of different strokes. Tabla are made from wood but can also be made from clay, and different membranes such as deer skin.
