At Buck residence: Mandy bellows, "Rohan, are you and Brian playing ball today? Rohan: I think so, that squeezer needs a good beating.". Mandy: ok, well I'm putting in the tuna casserole for dinner. Rohan with ever so slight vomit coming up, "Mandy, I think Brian and I are going out.". Mandy: what about me? Mandy: but, I don't even like tuna!

Mandy: Rohan, we're still going to the movies tonight, right? Rohan: (twirling a basketball on his finger), sure let me get a couple of spins in first! Rohan: Mandy, don't interrupt greatness. Mandy: well, ok, anyways, the movie starts at 7:00. Rohan: (spins ball off his finger) *sigh* what movie again? Mandy: Rohan, the D is silent! At the Peters/Robinson residence-.

Here are my gentle musings and masterful bon mots about a very fake radio show. Saturday, January 30, 2016. Previously on the Superfriends-. Christy clanging and banging at the local Planet Fitness, while man husband Brian is scouting the nearest circuit machine. Christy yells out, "Brian, pump those weights! All the meatheads and knuckeldraggers turn eyes towards Brian, who is setting the bench press bar at 75lbs. Christy: must we have nicknames? Mandy: I like nicknames? Brian: no worries brother. In Dallas and beyond. Wednesday, March 5, 2008. War: Apparently not mad enough yet. Picked up a cool book at work today, and it reminded me about how upset I used to be at the war until it dragged on and on and I became meh about it. Are you meh, too? Let me help with that. Excerpts:. More than ever, it is the duty of the good citizen not to be silent." Charles Eliot Norton. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself." Leviticus 19:18, KJV. Love rules his kingdom without a sword." George Herbert. Nonviolenc...
Christy Robinson: World: Health care and the soul
http://christyrobinson.blogspot.com/2009/11/health-care-as-moral-issue.html
In Dallas and beyond. Sunday, November 8, 2009. Health care and the soul. What does my father's recent heart attack and a New York Times interactive have in common? Little, except that they both have me thinking about health care at the moment, framed in the context of morality. A sample of the interactive's topics. And scrolled through the comments ( click here. Our healthcare system is unjust because it pits the doctor's fiduciary and moral obligation to the patient, against the fiscal obligation to th...

In Dallas and beyond. Thursday, September 24, 2009. Try this in your morning coffee. The weather here in Texas has been overcast and downright mild, making me excited about the change of season. One of my favorite ways to celebrate the change? Just put a couple of drops right into your brew, and there you have it folks. A yummy, steamy juxtaposition of hot and cool, right in your morning cup. Find peppermint extract at the grocery store on the baking aisle, alongside the vanilla extract and other flavors.

In Dallas and beyond. Sunday, August 15, 2010. Don't blame men because you shave your legs. WHY MEN ARE NEVER DEPRESSED:. Men Are Just Happier People — What do you expect from such simple creatures? 8226; His last name stays put. 8212; So did mine. And yours would have, too, if you hadn't changed it. 8226; The garage is all his. 8212; Probably because you haven't declared that you need to share that space. No room for two? Save up and build your own dang lady cave. 8226; Chocolate is just another snack.

In Dallas and beyond. Friday, February 29, 2008. Not only murdered, but dismembered. Sorry, that was the last line from the anchor on the new program my sister's watching. I'm partly proud of myself, partly not. I've worked more hours this week than I think I ever have. I did my normal job, then I stayed til between midnight and 2 am putting together lists of polling places for Tuesday's paper. But the week's over, and I'm through. Extra Metro freelance, bay-bee. Cause it sho ain't gon be me. It's not sw...
Christy Robinson: World: July 2009

In Dallas and beyond. Sunday, July 26, 2009. I'm talking about the Mayborn Literary Nonfiction Conference in Grapevine, sponsored by UNT's Mayborn Graduate School of Journalism. I attended Friday and Saturday's events, but I decided to skip Sunday for a variety of reasons, among which were not because the conference itself lacked gems and good times. Highlights. This is from memory — my personal notes are over there in the dining room. Clued me in that this conference now drew writers from a much wider g...
Christy Robinson: World: June 2009
http://christyrobinson.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
In Dallas and beyond. Thursday, June 18, 2009. Ok not really. I'm just as white as I was since the last time I posted. But I am, in fact, back. Got a story for you. It was time for an eyebrow wax (BOY was it time). Brian and I stopped off at my favorite Vietnamese nail salon before our run after work yesterday. Now, my hairy sisters will hear me on this. Getting waxed = getting skinned. Delicate facial skin needs some love after a wax or it'll break out. It gets angry. But I have tactics.

In Dallas and beyond. Friday, November 20, 2009. Dead magazines I miss. The other day I said in my Facebook status that I missed George. And several FB friends commented with other great defunct magazines. Below is my homage to magazines discontinued in the past decade that I've subscribed to, have fond childhood memories of, remind me of good times or that I simply enjoyed reading. In Dallas and beyond. Friday, October 23, 2009. About the "Women are Unhappy" study. I really appreciated this study ( more on it here. When it came out, which essentially states that women are generally unhappier since the women's movement of the '70s (findings exception: black women). Then I was bewildered by the response to it, most of which drew that women are unhappy because. Of the strides in equality we've made. Total Alice in Wonderland conclusion. A post by Judy Warner on New York Times. At work...
Christy Robinson: World: August 2009

In Dallas and beyond. Monday, August 24, 2009. Yesterday Brian and I marked one year of marriage. I have many things to learn yet, but I've gathered a few gems along the way. Men are better at housekeeping than women give them credit for. The change that I didn't expect to have such an impact: sleeping in the same bed with another person every night. It seems so insignificant. But after 32 years of sleeping alone, it was quite a shock to my mind and body. It's cliche because it's true: If both spouses do...
