Bitchy and Ranty: September 2008
http://bitchyandranty.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Complaining for nigh 40 years. Thursday, September 25, 2008. Snoopy dancing idea courtesy of Tuli. I let out a proverbial HUGE sigh of relief earlier today. My dad can take a break from chemo; the scan showed nothing new! Actually, I guess nothing lit up besides his sternum -which was something that showed up in the very beginning as well, but the oncologist we saw at large midwestern university said she wasn't convinced it was anything since he'd just had heart stents placed. So we'll take it! So husban...

I Just Want World Peace. March 10, 2009 · Filed under Random. I promised myself I wouldn’t cry. I just opened a card from my mother. Inside is a small gold chain crucifix. From Grammie, Pops and Mom. My beloved Grammie and Pops passed away. Pops was 30 years sober when he passed in the same program as me (and my dad. They went to meetings together). Grammie just a few months before I got sober. My mother said they’re watching over me and they’re proud. And I WILL NOT CRY! 10 Responses so far ». I think y...
A little rain | Miss Night Owl
https://missnightowl.wordpress.com/2009/05/04/a-little-rain
It’s that time of year again. Well, it’s always that time of year with our river, but even more so during the spring. It hasn’t been raining very hard, just a near constant drizzle for the past several days. It doesn’t take much though. A few weeks ago I did a post. Where I explored the riverbank in my backyard. Here is a pic from that post showing a view of the riverbank. This is from the side today:. And a partial view from the front 2 weeks ago:. And from the front today:. Bless you Mother Nature!

Tiny Festival | Miss Night Owl
https://missnightowl.wordpress.com/2009/06/04/tiny-festival
Today was the official start of Tiny Town’s annual festival. We have a carnival all week, but the main activities happen from tonight through Saturday night. It is tradition for Mother Nature to help celebrate by drenching the festival at least half the week. Every single year. Last year we got a flood. Thankfully, we’ve already gotten that out of the way this spring. Those are 9 inch plates. Yum. Each year I look for something new to try. Last year it was a deep fried twinkie (meh), another year it ...

Houston, We Have a Problem: Longest Distance Traveled?
http://houstonsproblem.blogspot.com/2010/04/longest-distance-traveled.html
Houston, We Have a Problem. A glimpse into the world of Kevin. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. This past week I attended my first TequilaCon. And I was amazed at the amount of people who attended. I'm not into the blog crowd as much as many of the attendees were, so I didn't know most of the people, but it was pretty cool to see so many different bloggers. I was also amazed at the work the TequilaCon. I also want to thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Down With Pants. For ordering Tequila shots for everyone! According to ...

Coal Miner's Dinner
What happens when hillbillies go locavore. We all know you can eat mostly sustainable, organic, local, ethically raised food on a reasonable budget in southern California. But can you do it up in the eastern Kentucky Appalachians without having soup beans and cornbread every meal? Thursday, August 20, 2009. Second verse, same as the first. We didn't make any sauce for the fish, just put a dollop of the butter on there. O. M. G. Some of the best fish I've ever had. Wednesday, August 19, 2009. We had Fredd...
