Urupukapuka Island – How to find it. Firtly – you need to drive to Rawhiti in the Bay of Islands. If you’re starting from the KASK forum (at MERCK, in Long Bay). You have 223 km to go – and Google (and I) say it will take you a good 3.3 hours. First make a note of your odometer. Then go about 3.8 km West until you get to East Coast Road. IKW 2015 Pictures and Tracks. Tracks from GPS and pictures from the event. Tuesday - Urupukapuka, Waewaetoria and Red Head. A get-on-the-water and get-to-know-each-other day as we explored these three beautiful islands. The NE swell of 2m and the NE breeze meant that some chose to focus on the sheltered west coast of the islands, while some played outside and in the needles at the nothern tip. What to Bring to IKW. Bring some good weather and. Some cash for the food and bunkhouse! Sleeping and Eating - -. Cup yes - Plate and Spoons no (lots there) – for breakfasts. Thermos or cooker if you want a hot drink on the water. Sandwich box or bag – for lunches. Special Dietary Preferences (eg: Soy Millk, Plunger Coffee). Your curiosity and sense of humour. Slides or films with a Story. A scenario (real or imagined) that we can improve on. Helmet – if you have one. Tramping Boots or good shoes.
