The Coats Family's Adventures in Okinawa Japan. Saturday, December 31, 2011. My fall back was Cannon's iTouch.). There was a nice wood boardwalk for us to see the mangroves, fiddler crabs and mudskippers. Cannon informed us that these little seedlings fall from the trees, implant themselves in the mud and start new mangrove trees. The boardwalk was a nice leisurely walk, but then the path crossed the road and headed up. Going up to the wilderness. View from the top. We didn't see any crabs this big.

Well, we're back and on the go - we had a lot to accomplish before the kids and I fly out to Grammie and Grandpa's house on Wednesday night. Of course the first thing we did was stop by the house that we have a contract on to actually see it! That was one long night. We also went to Barnes and Noble! And to a Mexican restaurant for Stevie! Tuesday brought us looking at homes again with Heidi, our realtor....

The Coats Family's Adventures in Okinawa Japan. Monday, July 25, 2011. I don't know about you, but when my Monday morning looks like this outside,. I get in the mood to bake. So spying a browning bunch of bananas on my counter, I decided to whip up a loaf of banana bread. Separately, the ingredients have their own tastes, traits and looks, but as they come together, they form a cohesive batter. Add some (Okinawan) heat and that batter is now a tasty treat that everyone loves. How to Cook Everything.

Our Adventures in Okinawa. July 18, 2010. Random posts from the past. January 2010- David's Cell Project. David made a Animal Cell project in Science. We thought it turned out pretty Cool. He made the body of it out of homemade play dough and the parts out of various candies. The nucleus was a golf ball- and that was a lot tougher to cut then we anticipated. Our Adventures in Okinawa. April 23, 2009. I'll take a hamburger, fries, and that shirt over there. This last Saturday we finally had a chance to go out and cruise around. Matt had a car wash for track in the morning so we got a late start. By the time we stopped at the bazaar on base, picked him up, went to the PX, and had lunch (at the A&W on base) it was well after 3pm. We just headed out with vague ideas of heading to Naha. Notice the gentleman directing traffic? That's one thing we have noticed here...

Our Adventures in Okinawa. June 19, 2009. Such Happy Happy Faces. I drug the boys out to take some pictures the other day. They were less then willing.the high humidity and empty stomachs were not the best combination. Regardless, it at least gave me a chance to try out a new place to play around. The same picture can look very different- here is the same picture of David in color, Black and White and Antique. I liked the look of the stone steps. Matt not too thrilled- the water just washed over his foot.

The Coats Family's Adventures in Okinawa Japan. Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Don't get me wrong, we're glad to be back in the States, and we're especially glad to be back with family, and we'll be ecstatic when we actually get in our own home, but it's just that there is a multi-faceted loss that we're experiencing that I wasn't altogether prepared for. Never fear, however, I am working through it and will soon be posting our adventures again. Any suggestions for names? Let me know your thoughts, please!
